Coming from the rural area of Burtonwood, Warrington, Joe Johnson and James Parry met each other at junior school and started jamming together at the age of 12. 

They found escapism through heavy-grungy influenced music and began playing in bands together through high school. Gigging in Warrington where there where a lot of emerging pop-punk and metalcore bands; James and Joe wanted to oppose the trend and combine infuences from bands such as Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Muse & Radiohead.

The core of the band has always consisted of Joe on bass and lead vocals, with James playing guitar and backing vocals.
Over the years the band has seen through 5 different drummers, now the band starts a new chapter, crafting their sound with just 2 members.

The pair have been writing songs together for years, growing up in a deprived, working class area. Writing music was an escape from getting involved in the wrong crowd. 

James was brought up on classic rock and progressive rock acts of the 60's and 70's, looking up to his uncle who is a jazz guitarist, he wanted to emulate the likes of Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix at a very young age. As he got older he discovered Nirvana & Kurt Cobain which was really the reason for him picking up the guitar, as he related more to the grunge attitude than trying to be a virtuoso guitarist. 

Joe didnt find any musical passion from his family. Their musical interests were 90's rave and trance. Music became a passion through Joe's interest in video gaming, from a game title called 'Guitar Hero'. Soon he wanted to join a band and play guitar. At the age of 12 he lied his way into a band, stating he could be the pianist as the band already had 2 guitarists. Later into the bands life Joe picked up the bass and began to sing.

The band started out as an average amature cover band called 'Unsteady Grounds'. This was a 5 piece band which included Joe on keyboard and vocals and James on guitar. Being 12 years old it took the band a couple of years to gel and allow our attention span and egos to be put aside.

Eventually the band became bored of arguing over which covers to do next and playing covers in general. The band then started to write their own music, with Joe and James being the only two that were passionate about it. At the age of 14 Joe and James, after going through several line up changes, wrote the tracks 'Wimp', 'Lost Property', 'Calm' and 'Ice Cream Van' in Joe's garage. They then began to grasp a basic understanding of songwriting and composing music. 

A few years later they embarked on recording an EP whilst still in college. Priorities aside the music took upon 80% of their time rather than focusing on revision for A Levels. Since finishing college, the band decided to take their passion to a proffesional level, recording in a Studio based near their hometown.

We have been described as a "darker version of Weezer", Radiohead & Nirvana, but it is hard to pin point our style or put us in any category.

We take huge influence from bands like Dinosaur Pile-Up and Muse, aswell as progressive bands like Porcupine Tree and Tool.
