The True) Scorpio Rising is the solo project of Antoine, former guitarist in G.I. Love. When the G.I. Love split in 1991 after two psychedelic hardcore albums ("16 Hardcore Romances" produced by All or Nothing in 1989 and "Chemical Gardens" in 1991 by Go Get Organized), Antoine takes a break from music in order to focus on his studies in philosophy.
Few years later, he forms an electric guitar/cello duet with cellist Justine, who's got a classical training. Together, they compose and record a great number of tracks that, added to Antoine's solo composition and recordings, become the album "The Blues Resurrection Project", released in 2000 and produced by Philippe Laurent, pioneer of electronic music in France. Then, the duet splits on friendly terms and Antoine pursues his project on his own, with his guitar, his voice, and few machines. The album "Born/Reborn" is finished in 2002 and followed by "The Invisible Society" in 2003 and "Brain Catalogue" in 2004. After the latter, the former bassist from G.I.Love and now jazz double-bass player Stéphane plays in three titles of "Modern Slaves", which he co-signs with Antoine.
In 2006, the album "I know you but you don't know me" introduces itself as a concept-album exploring the themes of family and incest as it was inspired by Antoine's experience as a nurse in various psychiatric institutions. In 2010, Antoine finishes "Phallus Imperator", which he presents as the first lacanian rock opera. In (The True) Scorpio Rising, the music combines influences from post-free jazz, black metal, hardcore from the 90s and orchestral music of the 20th century. The lyrics most often describe the situation of the modern man, the man with no God nor master, always looking for new ways of alienating himself, and permanently threatened by madness.

NOISE GATE, founded in 1984, is made of four musicians and a drum machine. The band was considered to be one of the ten best musical moments of 1988 in Belgium, next to Front 242, La Muerte, and Neon Judgment. Around sixty gigs led them to Belgium, France, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, and Netherlands as they were doing the first parts of Vee V V, The Ex, The Shrubs, Parabellum, Angst, SNFU, Bérurier Noir, Caspar Brötzmann and LV 88. In 1987, the band released a single under its own label: NOISE PRODUCT. In 1990, the band signs an agreement with label Zelig/Houlala! at the same time as the release of their new LP : "Peace & Work". On top of many more projects, concerts around Spain, France, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and Hungary are planned for the following months.
Their style? Drums + drum machine, or drum machine and drums, accompanied by loud, high-key guitars, distorted, hypnotic and heavy bass sounds with a tortured or ironic voice."

PORE is a French industrial metal band, which was founded in 1990 in Thionville by David Valli, a member of the David Jones Locker (guitar, vocals and programming). The band is considered as one of the major figures of French industrial metal music. Something like a mixture of Godflesh, Helmet and Unsane. Pore's sound stays a reference, with its brutal and rough quality, maelstroms of incandescent guitars, dry cuts, set back voice and rudimentary and icy beats. First releases with label PDCD. Rock, rock and rock again… Your humble columnist (no one other than me) is a sensitive and sensible soul and has grown used to those pretentious riffs, essentially similar to others we'd given her under the "metal" label, or something approaching. Because, let's be honest, one can hardly not think one hasn't heard it all when it comes to big guitars.
One man armed only with his guitar, voice and drum machine creates one of the simplest, unbelievably heavy CDs in existence. Like a stripped down Godflesh relentlessly beating the shit out of Helmet.

Le son de Pore, brut et spartiate, maelströms de guitares incandescentes, parsemé de break secs, une voix en retrait et une boîte à rythmes rudimentaire et glaciale est resté une référence. Fragment. is the brainchild of Thierry Arnal (Amantra), a musician/composer based in Lyon, France, one-man-project born in 2006 who has just digitally released his brand new album Temporary Enlightenment, a quite remarkable record which I'm sure will please all fans of Jesu, Nadja and Godflesh.
En région Parisienne, fin 1994, Thierry Arnal & Pascal Bertier enregistrent un premier album dans leur home studio début 1999. Le projet s’intitulera « Dogma » il sera en téléchargement libre sur le site du groupe en 2001. Thierry s’installe sur Lyon et début 2005, Thierry décide de réenregistrer des titres « seul » sous un nouveau projet Fragment (pour lui Fragment n’étant qu’une partie de Flex). Il en sort 2 albums et un EP disponibles sur Achive.org. Ce ne sont que des ébauches d’un EP 4 titres « Cavity » sous le patronyme « fragment. » Entre  2006 et  2009 fragment. sort « Cavity » EP (CDr), « Monolith » LP (CDr), « Towards The Surface » EP (CDr), « Fragment » LP (CDr), « The Game Is Over » EP (CDr) sur différents labels et sort une compilation en août 2009 au Japon « Is Your Truth Carved In The Sand?» sur le label HAPPY PRINCE c’est la première sortie officielle. En relation depuis 2008 avec Craig Pillard (Methadrone, Disma), ils sortent le split « Astray » en Angleterre. Craig invitera Thierry a participé au 3e album de Methadrone « Better Living (through chemistry) » qui sortira chez Consouling Sounds en Belgique en 2009. En 2010 Andy Swan (Iroha) ami de longue date de Justin Broadrick (Godlesh, Final, Jesu) et ex membre de Final proposera une collaboration sous forme de Split « Bittersweet » et sortira chez Denovali Records en Allemagne en CD et vinyl ». 2010, fragment. attaque l’écriture du EP « Home » 2 longs titres pour une durée de 48 minutes qui sortira chez OPN Records en France, Nicolas Dick du groupe Français Kill The Thrill mastérisera et enregistrera pour l’occasion des guitares sur « Home».

Four stages of cruelty de Sisygambis est à la musique ce qu'est Le projet Blairwitch au cinéma, c'est à dire un truc qui a été fait avec peu de moyens et qui fout la trouille grave. Seul petite différence, aujourd'hui Sisygambis n'est pas encore aussi riche que les gens de Blairwitch... L'album qui se décompose (c'est le cas de le dire) en 6 parties et 4 étapes comme l'indique son titre apporte une ambiance réellement terrifiante. Ecouter ça avant de s'endormir, c'est s'assurer les pires cauchemars. 
Cris inhumains dans le lointain, dans l'espace personne ne vous entend crier, là si, je vous entends... Et ces bruissements qui se rapprochent, s'éloignent, dansent autour de moi. Je tente en vain d'identifier ce bourdonnement...est-ce à l'intérieur de moi ? Je bouille d'impatience de me sortir de ce mauvais pas. Des animaux, je ne suis donc pas seul, ah, je reprends mes esprits, le bourdonnement a disparu, on frappe, qui ? Sur quoi ? Qu'est-ce qui cliquaille ? Cette résonnance métallique, est-ce une Dark City qui se reconstruit autour de moi ? Le calme revient, encore moins rassurant. La nuit est tombée, des coups se rapprochent lentement, un personnage inhumain me poursuit, martelle en ma tête, Pinhead ? Suis-je déjà mort ? Non, la poursuite reprend sur un ryhtme plus effrené, vers où ? Trop tard, c'est terminé. Ils me laissent en vie, le souffle saccadé, j'essaye de retrouver mes esprits, perdus un peu plus tôt. Ouf, une ville, une usine, une fabrique, une ferronerie, des machines en tout cas et donc des humains. Pas plus en sécurité, je m'efforce de récupérer, ils rodent toujours, je les distingue dans le lointain, sont-ils dans le cube juste à côté ? Dans ma tête tout s'entrechoque, est-ce la réalité ? Toutes les idées m'apparaissent en flash, sans que je ne puisse les unir pour former quelque chose de cohérent, suis-je fou ? Suis-je au coeur d'un jeu, du jeu ? Des pas, on court par là, par ici, les Jin Roh sont à mes trousses ? Quelques frappes au carreau, sans retour. Ils sont organisés, je suis la proie... Comment m'échapper ? Le bateau ? Le train ? Les locomotives fuient également cet endroit... Un klaxon ! Un piège ? On approche, je suis pétrifié. Tant pis, c'est peut-être ma dernière chance qui vient de passer. Il ne me reste que peu de temps avant la fin, ma fin ? Des complaintes retentissent, le jour se lève. Le brouillard lui se densifie, le tictac infernal reprend, tout s'éloigne autour de moi, ne reste que ce carillon qui annonce la fin de tout, il ne reste plus que moi et sa douce musique qui elle aussi finit par me fuir. Me fuir. Je viens de comprendre. Je suis à l'origine de cette douleur. Je suis la cruauté.

French outfit Kill the Thrill was formed in 1989 and, although generally associated with the industrial music movement, has dabbled further afield in everything from alternative rock, to ambient goth, to darker new wave, and even all-out heavy metal. Needless to say, this brave eclecticism has led to a rather selective, if open-minded audience embracing their very sporadically released albums, including Dig (1993), Low (1996), 203 Barriers (2003), and Tellurique (2005). At the time of Tellurique, Kill the Thrill comprised longtime members Marylin Tognolli (bass, programming, vocals), Nicolas Dick (lead vocals, guitar, programming), and Frédéric De Benedetti (guitar, vocals).

This Side of Jordan est le projet sécant de Philippe Thiphaine, une part plus intime de lui-même dévoilée au monde, rendue audible à l’oreille. 
Batî autour de la guitare, ce projet est à l’évidence plus personnel, jouant sur des gammes de tensions et de ruptures, d’arpèges mélodiques jusqu’alors assez peu développés sur Héliogabale.
Pour faible que soit ma connaissance dans le domaine, on discerne une évidente promiscuité avec le jeu de Rafael Toral ou Bill Frisell, ne serait-ce que dans cette capacité à privilégier l’émotion, la pure échelle des sensations au détriment de la technique (si ce n’est l’instrument). Pas une instropection individuelle, Philippe a invité sur cet album des amis plus que des artistes dont les timbres sont de toute évidence complémentaires et participent de cette mixité de paysages et d’atmosphères. Depuis la voix revêche et terrienne de Eugène aux filets fragiles de Sasha.
Si les parties chantées sont splendides, c’est davantage les longues phases instrumentales, perturbées de légères dislocations du rythme, d’anfractuosités élégantes qui jalonnent notre imaginaire et le rendent si fécond.Dans le genre, on ne m’avait pas autant ému depuis les évocations lunaires de Fragile / Imagho.
Définitivement recommandé.

Finesse distordue et énergie subtile : un défi pour 4 gros lourds.
Deux basses, une guitare, une batterie, deux voix qui s'y frayent un chemin tant bien que mal et un minimoog qui vient parfois semer son trouble. Pas un neurone de plus. 
Du rock, des mélodies qui doivent certainement beaucoup à Fugazi, Shellac, Girls vs Boys, June Of 44, Jesus Lizard, The Melvins, P J Harvey, The Ex, Unsane, Uzeda, At the Drive In, et donc à beaucoup d'autres, forcément. (Détente : amateur de powermathrocknoiseposthardcoreémopunk, propose-nous toi-même une étiquette).

Aghostino s'est formé sous terre, aux abords paisibles de Metz (57) en 2004.
