GHOSTPUSSY

Modular synthesis and digital wreckage collide on 'Zaibatsu', the latest single from brokenatoms. Known for his dense, dystopian sound design and live audiovisual sets as a resident at Beton Brut, brokenatoms pushes glitched breakbeats and overloaded bass into a collapsing structure of rhythm and control. The track explores how corporate systems have reshaped creative expression into commodified content: looping, flattened, stripped of meaning. Zaibatsu is a warning signal, broadcast from within the machinery itself.

I just used one or two sounds of mine (like a little organ you can hear once) but keeping it Yuku-only as much as possible, trying to blend genres I love in a new way (exploration as always). Not the best at mixing and mastering I know, but I loved to do it and had a lot of fun, thanks to @yukumusic team for the challenge, to the artists for the delightful samples, large up everyone involved in this challenge.

Mata Hari (meaning "sun" in Malay) reimagines the sound of the 80s in the year 2080. The song is told through the eyes of an artist, who creates a painting as a declaration of love and as a testament to the intensity of emotions and feelings (for another) when words and actions were inadequate.

About The Chronicles of Manimal and Samara

The Chronicles of Manimal and Samara (TCOMAS) are a London-based duo comprising Andrea Papi and Daphne Ang. Coming together in early 2020 to record their debut album FULL SPECTRUM, the duo are fast establishing their niche in music as pioneers of a new form of expression, through the performance of poetry in music, and as an act that traverses between the wide-reaching spectrums of music. 

Drawing inspiration from TOOL and Kraftwerk, as well as the poetry of Sylvia Plath, Virginia Woolf, and Jim Morrison, TCOMAS brings literature, art, and history together into a space where rock and metal meets electronic.
