As the iTunes Shuffle First Song of the Day, I was surprised the ease with which I was singing it; as if I knew it! In truth, I wrote enough fiction to it, I must. 

So here's what resulted, in about 45 minutes.

The unparalleled Victor Smith and I put this track together in 2008 in his basement. Many of the instruments are digital but Victor is also a one-man band so some of them, like the violin and the tin whistle, are live. This was one of my favourite songs when I was about 12 or 13. I first heard it while hanging out with my oldest cousin, who had a mix tape with it and a bunch of other classic '80s tunes. (That was also the first time I heard "I just died in your arms tonight" and "Video killed the radio star.")

So I got a phone call from Victor Smith, who helped me lay down the original cut of this track (also featured on this page), saying that he had made some changes to the cut, mostly in the introduction. I would love to know what you think of the new cut! I adore the haunting vibe it has now! Might be cool to invite Anglomangler to help me make a music video for it in the future.
