Evolution desires novelty not conformity and dogmas are the enemy of the soul. Originally from West Germany, Pascal’s approach to music is rooted in positive experimentation and the spontaneous play of different shades and moods. After discovering the mixed music format of deejaying as a teenager he quickly got immersed in the scene - at the time, untarnished by the post-internet buzz of today. A healthy diet of early Plastikman, Perlon and outings to Robert Johnson laid the ground for creative forces to drive his ears to ever more adventurous places. It was a pure and innocent time of discovery, defined by the organic flow of life, people and experiences. 



Blurred lines, shifting forms, subtle tones. Imbued in his style are some of the dreamlike qualities that originated from his left-field dance influences, and delivered here with a gentle touch. Pascal’s mix is naturally transportive, a reverie glowing with evening sunlight and quiet reflections. Soft drones extend deep into space, melodies leave their faded imprint on the reclining sky.

In 2023, a new private space opened in Madrid, Spain with the intention of becoming a meeting point for the pure enjoyment of underground music. Espacio Perpendicular will be broadcasting some of the many recordings taken from the venue as well as hosting live events in the future for our collective listening pleasure, here on 9128.live.

This time we have and ambient and electronic session that "La extraña Pareja" recorded a few nights ago in our space. "La extraña Pareja" is a project developed by our beloved Doozer and Alberto Iniesta when they come together to play records.

Anna Homler, Steven Warwick and Natsuko spent several days in Crato town preparing Cochilo’s opening performance. 

Breadwoman, a character developed by US artist Homler in the early 1980s is something of a performative framework, anchored to the ‘timeless’ figure of the loaf-masked woman and the ‘mother tongue’ she speaks.

Natsuko Kono sits centre stage wearing a mask fashioned from a hollowed-out loaf of bread and a tattered cotton and cheesecloth robe. Surrounded by an assemblage of blankets, more loaves of bread and a flour shaker, she looks old and haggard. Yet her movements, while slow and considered, are graceful. She’s playing the eponymous, mythical character in the collaboration of Anna Homler and Steven Warwick’s production.

The sudden loss of Namlook was a devastating one for him and the music community. When you reach this state, in order for the light to maintain its speed, time would stop as it takes an infinite amount of time for light to reach 300 million meters.

‘Kronosphere’ is trying to define this phenomenon by reproducing the sensation of an outbursting zen state.
This is a frozen moment when everything is resonating in beautiful harmony.
The sounds are creating a sense of being transported through different sublayers of reality, resulting in a sonic voyage into the unknown depths of the psyche.

ABSIS needs little introduction for anyone closely following the Spanish deep electronic music scene. Salva is a multi-faceted artists with a consistently impeccable output crisscrossing through genres including drone ambient, hypnotic techno, progressive downbeat and intricate atmospheric half-time. For his most recent release, he returned to the local Hivern Discs and has previously put out music via Oslated, Affin, Secuecias Temporales, Crescent London and the HOC Radio affiliated red edge (a label we recommend checking out if you’re not yet familiar) ✨

Nearly two and a half hours long, this recording showcases Salva’s deep sensibility to commanding energy within a mix, holding it back and releasing as he plays with tension and truly tests the frontiers between ambient and dance music. It is a testament to how reframing genres and introducing them in different contexts can completely alter the way in which we perceive them and how a well researched and carefully executed mix can transcend any preconceived ideas about these.
