The third edition of The Space Between downtempo yoga mix series welcomes Steffen Kirchhoff (@steffenkirchhoff).

Steffen, who sees himself not so much as a musician but rather as a weaver of magic sound carpets, had a strong moment of spiritual awakening in 2011 which made him remember why he incarnated on this planet - to experience a huge shift of consciousness and support humanity and Mother Gaia with his many gifts and talents during the awakening and ascension process.

Since that moment he has dedicated his life to that mission while embarking on an incredible journey following his heart and acting on his passions. One of them being sound and music and its' powerful healing abilities.

He calls his music "Medicine Music" because of the healing effect it has on him and his audience. Whether listening to his productions, podcasts, live sets or DJ sets, you will always feel an invitation to open your heart and dive into beauty, peace, harmony and bliss which he believes to be representative of our truest, deepest core essence.

Following his excitement lead him to become a traveling nomade and he continues drawing inspiration for his music from nature and travels all over the world.

His music is composed of ambient and nature recordings alchemized together with organic beats and sounds like ceremonial, ritualistic sounds and shamanic instruments that are created with the intention of healing. During his travels in Colombia in 2016 he met his partner Maywa (@maywa) and, in Spring 2017, they founded their ritual music project ALUNA (@alunaritualmusic).

Since then they have been traveling together and Maywa is always part of his performances, offering support with her loving presence and beautiful voice.

They share their love and medicine at festivals and gatherings across the planet performing cacao ceremonies and opening or closing rituals combined with their music.

In 2018 they founded their own medicine music label NUMA (@numanumanuma) which represents a collective of artists that aim to spread love, ancient/future wisdom and healing energies through organic, multi-cultural and multi-style medicinal music. 

At the moment he is excited by teaching music production classes and  creating ambient music for sound healing journeys, yoga  and guided meditations.

Steffen Kirchhoff | The Space Between [Downtempo Yoga Set]

Dear Listeners, 
It’s been overwhelming how many of you have written and asked for this year’s Fusion set.  One person even counted the weight of the tears he had shed every time he came here, and found the set was not online yet. So why did it take so long? 
 
It was a very intense four hour set at the Palapa, and it was a very intense week before that. To go back and revisit those moments required quite a bit of strength, which I didn’t have until now. Obviously the intensity of revisiting those moments at the Palapa had a lot to do with the death of our dear friend Bas Engels. 
You might think that I'm loco for saying this, but I know Bas was there with us, celebrating life and death, guiding me through the set and even creating some magic, when my computer froze and I had to restart it, while improvising on a drum machine. Normally the recording would be lost then, but this time it was just there as if nothing had happened. Without him you wouldn’t be able to listen to this now. 
I want to thank Bas for the special magic he created on so many occasions.  Also I want to thank Eule and his team for their foresight and faith to pull me slightly out of my comfort zone, and into this perfect Sunday morning setting. And, of course, I also want to thank all of you, because 
music sounds better with you.
