Ghosts - Sounds against War

“Second Passacaglia for String Orchestra” was completed in July, 2022 in Fairview, TX. 

From the composer's publisher Creative Spirit OnLine: "Brooks’s Second Passacaglia unfolds broodingly over a 17-bar, slowly moving bass line in cellos and basses, while the variations above increase in movement and intensity until finally arriving at a subdued and haunting final cadence."

The work is in one movement. Performance time is about 10 minutes.

Performance notes:
•	Tempo, expression, and dynamic markings should be strictly observed.
•	There is no key signature. Accidentals apply to the end of the measure or to the note or notes tied over the measure, and only to notes of the same pitch class, in the same octave.
•	Hairpin pairs (e.g.: mp <>, mf ><) indicate a temporary volume change of one dynamic level.
•	Passages marked  fff  or ppp  indicate playing as loudly and as quietly as possible, respectively.
•	Double-bass “C-extension” is required.

Hi there, Listeners! 😊

I'm delighted to share our latest Improvisation from our mid August Session in The Living Room. It's taken the form of a Suite as the sounds flow from one murmuration to another. And as always thus far, Tim Elliot is manning his Telecaster and I'm on his ancient Upright Grand Piano, as our musical conversation continues! 😉

Gotta say that we just love Jamming together... doing some Deep Listening in the moment and being stunned by the tonal adventure that unfolds.             
Upon reflection, we catch ourselves wondering if we were really there as it happened. 😉

So let go, expect nothing...

As seeds, budding plants, shrubs and bears awaken from the depths of winter in the Northern Hemisphere and Spring comes, we're delighted to finally Release a New Track for Spring of 2023! 😎  
   
We call it 'Awakening'. 

And thank goodness that as usual, the fingers of Tim Elliot are on his Telecaster and mine on the ancient Upright Grand Piano .

and together, they work their magic as we continue to explore the sonic landscape together through Improvisation.

Of course this can only happen within a space of Deep Listening.  A place Musicians can go in their totally individual inimitable ways.                      
                                                                                                                               
In our case, we almost immediately found ourselves being 'Led' into a Tonal Awakening....
Subtle grooves that were an outer manifestation of the Joy we were experiencing as we explored the spaces in between the notes.  😊  

Of course, the very best kind of Awakening is to one's own inimitable Truth, no matter the noise and apparent confusion all around. And sure... there's all kinds of negativity and nonsense in this ol world, but who needs to Awaken to that? It's more than obvious!
 
Far better to explore and express one's unique Creativity! To share the Love one feels for whatever they're passionate about, through their Music! 😉
