As a San Diego-based artist, Ramin Majlessi has established himself as a prominent figure in the house music scene. With a passion for the genre that runs deep, he has not only distinguished himself as a talented DJ, but also as a respected promoter, event producer, and A&R for MI4L and helping run Halo Varga’s label Muted Noise. In 2015, Ramin began a bi-monthly podcast featuring artists from around the world, which caught the attention of the Los Angeles-based blog, Music is 4 Lovers, who now hosts the series. Ramin's career took a significant turn when he saw Rhadoo perform in LA in 2016, which led him to explore deeper sounds and influences from artists like Priku, Barac, Sepp & Nu Zau, Arapu, and Cristi Cons. Now, Ramin has performed alongside notable acts such as Archie Hamilton, Seb Zito, Paolo Rocco, Miroloja, and Romanian producers Livio & Roby. Recently, Ramin has released on a leading minimal/deep house label Whoyostro which saw a remix by the renowned London producer Ray Mono, solidifying his position as a respected name.

It's almost poetic that The Afternoon Umbrella Friends began with throwing desert parties, then came blazing onto the scene throwing some of the best parties seen at our beloved Kava Lounge last year, then returned to the desert with their biggest production to date only to have it be pretty much the last big gathering we would have for a long long time! During Umbrella Weekend, an escape of great music and impressively interesting logistical challenges, this man kept his cool, listened and valued the input of peers, and adapted for the good of the experience as a whole, and it comes through in his set, as a true sonic journey for the space we were all in, together.

They are a rising DJ/producer duo originating from Istanbul and based in San Diego. United by their mutual love of music, the two friends began their journey spinning tracks at local frat parties, often hosting spontaneous after-parties in their dorm. It wasn’t long before they discovered their creative synergy was something rare. As their collaboration deepened, their sound evolved, transitioning from humble dorm rooms to some of the most exclusive clubs across Europe. Yet, for them, the venue never mattered. Their dedication to crafting deep, hypnotic grooves paired with melodic storytelling gave birth to their signature sound, which they proudly call “Deep Dancing.” #letsdance
