Lymsa is a French DJ based in Paris, originally from Le Havre, with a stop in Lille, where she discovered electronic music through a circle of passionate friends. This revelation deeply changed her perception of music and marked the beginning of a true artistic commitment.

Quickly drawn to techno, Lymsa developed a strong taste for deeper, more experimental sounds. Her musical universe is hypnotic and introspective, built as a sensory exploration through raw textures, organic rhythms, and immersive atmospheres.

Behind the decks, her selections are crafted with precision, reflecting her sensitivity: demanding and sincere. Through her sets, she champions a pure vision of music, true to her roots and personal journey.

Beyond mixing, Lymsa is actively involved in the Parisian electronic scene, notably within the Dismal? collective, where she contributes to developing artistic formats that combine musical rigor with distinctive aesthetics.

CHRONICLES - 014 - LYMSA

Adding to the Subtract Imprint ⍭ catalogue are 3 original tracks accompanied with remixes from 2 alternative perspectives by Obscur.

‘Lo and Behold’ fittingly introduces the EP. Microtonality plays a lead role in shaping the mood, exemplified in the bursts of sine tones arpeggiated throughout the track. The track is consolidated with an arsenal of moving textures to sustain tension.

‘Hidden Image’ boasts simplicity, the tracks rolling loop does the heavy lifting. Aligned with the track, the description needs little words.

‘Notch’s’ dark cavernous lows and eerie reverb-drenched percussion set the tone. With less focus on drive, and more emphasis on mood it reaffirms its place around the halfway point of the EP.

To conclude ST002, I’ve invited Obscur to supply the EP with two versions of ‘Lo and Behold’. Both hold familiar characteristics to his stunning solo works but offer a reshaped landscape of the original.
