Memory Clap Acid (California)
Born out of the ashes of the late 90’s California Bay Area rave scene, the post hardcore & experimental movement of the early 2000’s & his current involvement in recording & engineering his friends Cold Wave, Minimal Wave, & Body Music bands. Aldo Giovanni’s Memory Clap Acid project is an amalgamation of all these influences warped & twisted into a fucked up no nonsense & no genre club music.
Currently he has some out there releases on Detroit’s Junted, L.A.’s The Black Lodge, Glasgow’s Clan Destine Records, & Melbourne’s Up North Records. He has a handful of up coming releases with London’s Meta Moto, Scotland’s Idlestates, Tbilisi’s
S H I S H I, & Chile’s Absu. He is currently working on a couple of split releases. One with good friends Tuxedo Gleam & another with Tndr Pnk for Clan Destine.
His noise & drone peppered album for Junted titled !MIRA! is out now.

In search of original and extravagant motion pictures for rich people, this time Mr. Ballinger has made a contract to find a very special film: "Le Fin Absolute De Mond" (the absolute end of the world). The problem is that there is only one copy of this tape, whose whereabouts is a mystery, but even more mysterious is the particular effect it produces on those who watch it.

Radically shapeshifting and surrealist, as spinning sonic prisms taunting the ears, ‘Cercle Vicieux’ and ‘Cercle Vertueux’ channel Fluxus artistry, straying past jazz-licked drones, avalanching low end and blood red scatting. Scenes both condescending and anxious —  this release is carried by its interwoven conflicts, where strange attractors reveal knots at each listen.

The fifth Plafond is a special joint project tying the synchronicity of two contemporary minds. Both Zoë Mc Pherson and Rupert Clervaux are known to actively transgress art forms, reconstituting production methods through respective audiovisual and literary pursuits. The listener is relocated in their musical interzone, bordered by avant-garde experimentalism on one side, and bass-heavy club mutations on the other. This ambiguation lays out a gateway, one through which modern producers can re-adopt the revolutionary energy of those who unraveled conventions on music and sound in the first place — a ‘Cercle Vertueux’, indeed.

Comes in a hand printed sleeve with multiple tints grey and silver, including an Obi-strip, by the BAKK Interzone Alcazar.

The dance floor is now a barbed wire enclosure, strewn with broken glass. Bully boy bailiffs beat their baseball bats in a corporate ‘4 on the floor.’ Bastard slave-dog cops sniff the backsides of their masters. Deference is a long established disease. Revellers bicker as to which of their leaders is best qualified to torture them. Language has failed - reduced to “diss” and “cuss.” Snowflake supremacists cower in a corner clutching at their victimhood. Sink the Mayflower. Time for a scum clearance. From beyond the marketplace, an Alien militia emerges to guide those with bloodied feet, yet still with resolve, to a clearing where they can once again imagine, create and experiment.  

The sound of DSPSSSSD is like finding an old Fisher-Price toy in a plastic tesco bag, abandoned in a rotting shed at the bottom of the garden - corroded copper contacts - ‘90s batteries still leaking sticky acid - then plugging it in to a dub sound system and subjecting it to sonic abuse. It is a deliberate attempt to manifest Black Noise as a physical entity.

sound~space emanates from a world seemingly on the edge of collapse, where empathy is all but extinct, language has failed, interaction reduced to ‘diss’ and ‘cuss.’ Using discarded frequencies, a sonic resistance creates militant meditations designed for spirit renewal, punctuated with pulses to facilitate bodily propulsion. Tonal analysis reveals tools required for struggle, both internal and external.
