Used to Be a Human (It's Official Satire Now)

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer faced sharp mockery from comedians in late 2025 for what they dubbed the "Starmer" — a biting label highlighting his vocal promotion of the UK's defense industry amid ongoing criticism over Gaza. Critics pointed to his speeches championing arms exports and military spending as tone-deaf against reports of genocide and starvation in the region, sparking viral sketches labeling him a "war profiteer in denial."

Background Story

Starmer's Labour government, elected in 2024, positioned defense as an economic pillar, with announcements of billions in military contracts drawing applause at home but fury abroad. Comedians seized on Gaza footage — aid blockades, child malnutrition stats from UN reports — contrasting Starmer's factory tours with headlines of 40,000+ Palestinian deaths. The "Starmer" became shorthand: human rights rhetoric swapped for fighter jet handshakes. One viral bit: "He used to be human — now he's just promoting the shells that shell Gaza." Pure satirical fire.

Hey everyone,
thanks for being here and for listening.
It’s been a while since I last released a song. Some things needed time, and this one took its own pace before it felt right to share.
Still Somehow sits between memory and the present. The song reflects on a love that has ended without fully disappearing. Not as open pain and not as longing, but as a quiet awareness that some connections continue to linger.
It’s neither a classic love song nor a factual analysis of a failed relationship. Instead, it’s a calm look at what remains after letting go, and at the things we carry with us without holding on.

The track was created as a collaboration with Janne Hennie. Working together gave the song its balance between closeness and distance, between emotion and clarity. Thank you so much, Janne!
