FREQ of the week! A studio-head in the true sense of the word, YokoO’s last 20 years have seen him master house music in all its deepest forms. With a prolific and impressive discography, YokoO has made his mark on noteworthy labels to date with original releases and a back- catalogue of strong remixes.

He’s turned the heads of many a label boss from Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Matthew Dekay, Lee Burridge, MANDY, as well as racked up plays from a broad spectrum of industry reference artists. YokoO’s music has proven time and time again it can reach the record bags of the DJing elite in every continent.

His most recent notable projects Pachamama and Euneirophrenia anticipated the evolution behind the January ’21 release of his latest EP Jivanmuktih on Crosstown Rebels’ offshoot Rebellion. 2021 marks for YokoO the re-birth into a significant new chapter of his career as a producer, with a matured musical intuition charged with seductive blends of eclectic, deep, minimal and hypnotic house grooves.

Like a mantra vibrating beat by beat, his music abides only to his deepest meditative intuition and revolves around the creation of unbound free flowing states of creativity echoing in stillness a deep connection to nature where every subtle detail counts for rich in artistic expression and depth.

With these words, DJ YokoO explains how he draws inspiration from his Yoga practice and the Yamas as he prepares for the launch of his new label SATYA, a project that signifies the maturing into a state of unbridled surrender to the craft. Next up we welcome two artists that we love very much here at Berlin-Brighton. Not only that, these two connoisseurs also run a label that we have been playing tracks from for quite some time on our radio shows and events.

Meet Sven & Sven, aka the Pornbugs! They started their common career in various clubs and radio stations in Germany in 2000, and since 2005 they perform mainly as Pornbugs. Pornbugs is the deep-/minimal house project of the guys, featurng a unique dancefloor sound. Their international gigs have lead them to Cape Town, New York, London, Barcelona, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Santiago, San Francisco and Washington, to name a few.

In January 2006 they founded their label Bondage-Music as a platform for ambitious releases of deep-/techhouse. The label has made a huge impact in the electronic scene since then, with releases by talented artistssuch as Mihai Popoviciu, Markus Homm, NTFO, Super Flu, Sascha Dive, Gorge, El Mundo, Frink, Philip Gonzales, Tuccillo and many many more. We caught up with the two Svens to find out about their journey and what's coming up in 2024.

Our very own Reiss had the challenging task of setting the mood during the opening hours of night that so many were looking forward to. Slowly building up the vibe and tension in the room, while anticipation for the appearance of our guest of honour was gradually progressing towards its apex. Brother in beats Ferro upped the levels during his set and when Ricardo finally appeared in the booth, the energy in the room was electrifying before the man even played his first record. The rest is history.
