Premiere: Nic Fanciulli - On My Mind [Rekids]

Rejected announce the return of UK producer Josh Butler with a tantalizing double header - 'Pros & Cons' / 'Misfits'. Marking Butler's first collaboration with the label since his acclaimed 'Shipwreck' EP from 2022.

'Pros & Cons' is a versatile deep house jam, featuring a warm bassline, crisp snares, and pulsing synths. Its smooth and subtle energy make it an essential go-to track at any point of the night.

On the flip, 'Misfits' caters to the late-night crowd and aficionados of quirky techno grooves. Sending ripples of energy into the darkest and most eccentric corners of dancefloor.

A welcome return to the label for Butler, and one that is all pros and zero cons.

We are delighted to welcome artists of Deep Aztec and Black Soda's calibre to the label. Black Soda is a Namibian-born, Cape Town-based beat poet whose rolling rhymes have appeared on deep house bastions like Desolat, Rebellion & Poker Flat. On production, South Africa's Deep Aztec has shared stages with the cream of underground dance music, from Black Coffee and Tim Green to Culou De Song. He has released on tastemaking imprints like Get Physical and Watergate. "For The Seeing Kind" sees the two of them take Chez Damier's Prescription Underground sound from the early 90s and bring it up to date with the kind of slow-burning South African style that has seen Afro-House explode worldwide this year—a future spoken word classic.

Audiojack are the UK DJ duo behind some of the biggest house records of the last two decades. Debuting with their iconic Robot on Leftroom in 2006, Audiojack arrived on the scene to critical acclaim. Audiojack’s collaborations with Kevin Knapp on vocals have produced many big records including Vibrate, Implications and Stay Glued, whilst other guest vocalists have included LCD Soundsystem’s Nancy Whang, Eli & Fur and Polarbear.
 
Audiojack also release on other labels such as Solid Grooves, DTFD, 8bit, Dirtybird, Shall Not Fade, Knee Deep in Sound, Hot Creations, and of course their Gruuv label. Audiojack’s remixes on labels like Diynamic and BPitch Control, and for artists such as Underworld, Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada and Hot Since 82 have proven their reliability as dancefloor focused hitmakers, while accolades include a nomination in DJ Mag’s Best of British awards and mixing the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.
 
It was Audiojack’s passion for DJing which originally inspired them to produce, and after two decades behind the decks together they are masters of the back-to-back, with their energetic performances taking them to over 70 countries, including many of the world’s greatest clubs and festivals.

Italian pioneer Marco Lys remixes an international club hit by Cool Jack on DFTD, ‘Just Come’. Cool Jack, comprised of influential DJ and Black Moon Records owner Angelino Albanese, producer Gianni Visnadi and vocalist Tom Hooker, originally released ‘Just Come’ in 1992. The addictive track then received remixes from DJ Sneak, Ralphi Rosario, The Sharp Boys and is now updated for modern clubs by fellow Italian Marco Lys. Nasser Baker makes his long-awaited return with an original track, the deep and mature house single ‘Notification’ on Defected. California-born and New Jersey-raised, Nasser Baker was discovered as a young artist by influential producer Dennis Ferrer, who signed Baker to his revered Objektivity label. The move resulted in several critically acclaimed EPs, putting the New Jersey talent on the maps of house music’s finest thanks to his broad and eclectic sound, holding a maturity well beyond its years as a result of analogue techniques combined with modern house sensibilities. Ever since, Nasser Baker’s approach has steered towards quality over quantity, with his releases proving well worth the wait in the eyes of tastemakers and fans alike.
