Audiomatique Recordings keep flying the flag for quality deep and techy house music. This latest installment comes in courtesy of Djuma Soundsystem, Aki Bergen and Lazarusman - a production team with plenty of experience and dance-floor know how between them. 

Rome-based Aki Bergen has released a number of highly praised tracks on numerous labels over the past few years, and it’s his version of 'Your Deep is Not My Deep' that’s up first. Built round a seductive groove that’s both understated yet highly infectious, Aki leaves plenty of room for Lazarusman’s vocals to worm their way inside your head. It’s a statement of individuality, perhaps a reaction to the formulaic tracks clogging up some parts of the scene, and as such fits perfectly on Steve Bug’s fine label.

Norwegian producer Mikkas aka Djuma Soundsystem also has some serious pedigree- his 'Les Djinns' was one of the biggest tracks of the past few years. His mix here is a spacey production rich in melody and with a groove that will work wonders on most crowds.

Audiomatique are back with a cracking new release from Djuma Soundsystem Vs. Shades Of Gray. 

'Madness' is the result of this mouth-watering collaboration, and is here in the original version and with a number of remixes. 
The original sees the Norwegian DJ & producer Mikkas (Djuma Soundsystem), Czech national Michal Schwa and Aussie Nick West (Shades of Gray) team up for the first time. The result is a deep, lush and euphoric piece of house music that will surely be doing the business to dance floors all summer long. Crisp drums, a buzzing low-end bass and the beautiful interplay of keys and vocals make this a very seductive proposition. 

The Danish producer Noir offers a remix that adds a little more techy grit to proceedings, keeping the affecting vocals in place and producing something of a sleek dance-floor weapon. 

Roberto Rodriguez also does the business - the shuffling groove, bubbling synths and tonnes of funk add extra dimensions to his remix. 

Djuma Soundsystem himself also offers up another version that reworks the arrangement, and teases out the underlying grandness of the original - this could the version to welcome many sunrises this year. 

Beatport customers will also receive a killer Alex Dimou remix, which sees the Get Physical artist bring his signature style to 'Madness', creating an hypnotic, twisting house burner.

Making its debut for Audiomatique Recordings is a new pairing that is much more than the sum of its parts. The meeting of minds between France's Darlyn Vlys and Tunisian talent HearThug has produced a haunting trio of tracks; more than deep, more than techno, more than house, and more than sound design, 'Another Way EP' is a thrilling ride through dancefloor mood manipulation.

Title track 'Another Way' introduces vocal guest Forrest, whose poignant lyrics lend an air of indie cool to the melancholic anthem. Blossoming from mournful wind instrument tones to warmer guitar licks and glinting, uplifting strings, its layered elements and subtle shifts apply the perfect amount of tension-and-release.

'Alienated' is restrained in tempo, but packed with emotional content. Its stark, steady metallic drums provide a grounding for its unpredictable melody, as bass tones and higher notes shift from unified to harmonised and back again, for a free-wheeling trip through the highs and lows of melodic progression.

The downright spooky 'Yellow King' takes inspiration from mystical fiction and the supernatural for a distinct sense of noirish beauty. Unusual melodic tangents enhance the sound artistry, for a track as remarkable for its intricacy as for its ability to leave your hair standing on end.

Berlin lynchpins Jacob Phono and Jens Bond continue a fine run of collaborative EPs on Steve Bug's ever-reliable Audiomatique imprint. Deadly deep, dark and detailed, all 3 tracks are intense, club-ready excursions along the border between house and techno. 

As you'd expect from DJs with residencies at Katerholzig and Watergate respectively, this is music primed for the dancefloor, each intricate rhythm no doubt testament to Bond's years of training and experience as a drummer. 

The title track is deep and spacious, with a spoken word sample and eerie interlude of feedback that shows the duo have more than a few beguiling tricks up their sleeves.

'Ion' meanwhile is a masterclass in sub bass, a relentless groove that expands and contracts around body and mind, precision-engineered for peak-time deployment. 'Jane's Addiction' rounds things off, stripped back, with a dub techno sensibility to its circling reverberations; it's intense, hypnotic and utterly immersive. 

Across all three tracks, it's the little details that stand out: the split-second snatch of distant choric voices that offers a moment of respite in "Jane's Addiction", the shimmering vibes and wind chimes of "Affects The Spirit." Much more than functional, this is the work of exceptional imaginations.

Highly regarded for his breakout track "Alice" - which featured the haunting vo- cals of Russia's favourite DJ/chanteuse Julia Govor and was championed by many a primetime DJs, not least Seth Troxler - Eugen Dubrovin a.k.a. Qbeck touches down on Audiomatique with a quartet of mightily impressive deep house bombs.

"Mova", the title track sets out his stall, as unusual percussive elements are layered to build a dubby groove around which hea- vy metallic tones, a circling synth repetition and a bright, pinging descending melody slowly gather. It's hypnotic stuff, for the body as much as the mind.

"Hoob" casts an atmosphere of tense sus- pense to which layers of synth and music box motifs are added. A mid-section that envelops you in a heady Eastern swirl beautifully contrasts its intricate, clockwork magic.

Meanwhile, the spooky vibe and driving menace of "Amethyst" culminate in a dan- cing hands-in-the-air rave hook.

The crisp, bassy "Getaway" beguiles with layers of warped and pitch-bent synth work.

Deep in Germany's Black Forest, from a small house surrounded by thousands of mighty firs, Patrick Chardronnet - locked away in his room of humming machines - has dedicated well over a decade to honing his signature sound as an artist: crisp, high-definition beats and minimal grooves harnessed to an intuitive understanding of structure and melody. In between, he has toured extensively, intoxicating dancefloors across the USA, Japan, Europe and Russia and amassed a portfolio of stellar remixes.

Released in conjunction with an essential 'Best Of' album that charts a decade at the cutting edge of electronic music, Patrick Chardronnet serves up two fresh cuts on Au- diomatique - ample testimony that his power to mesmerise and surprise in equal measure remains undimmed.
'Wobbler' marries spring-loaded, tub-thum- ping kick drums, a scything synth repetition, a throbbing bass and distant Hitchcockian strings to deeply hypnotic effect. A side-win- ding motif descends and ascends seductive- ly, plunging you into an immersive, bobbing trance state.

Steve Bug’s golden ear for club-smashing tech house has rarely failed him, and his boutique Audiomatique label has been home to countless examples. 

With this latest release, the label homes in on the unmistakable sound of Berlin party rockers Kotelett & Zadak (@kotelettzadak) - fixtures behind the decks at some of the city's most notorious nightspots.

The Trees EP is perfect encapsulation of their vibe - trippy, narcotic grooves for the after hours.
The lead track is a atmospheric roller - the tough drums augmented by a drifting, menacing two note synth lead - proving the devil is very much in the detail.

'Obsidian‘ shows a slightly different side of the production duo - a deep jam with intricate sound design and a slowly evolving groove that develops into something completely irresistible.

'Sterrobastula' brings the EP to a fitting climax, tough yet incredibly groovy, with a taste of something slightly unhinged and profoundly hedonistic thrown in.

Rowee (@roweemood) is the new project from the celebrated Italian DJ and producer Leonardo Gonnelli (@leonardogonnelli), here dropping four fresh tracks on Steve Bug's Audiomatique label. The Egypt EP sets out its game plan early with the title track - a heads down tech-house slayer that is both deep and driving, and the perfect home for the sublime vocals of Forrest. 

Kocleo’s (@kocleo) remix of Egypt is even deeper, pushing the vocals right into the front, and supplying a trippy, arpeggiated bass line for the track to hang off.

The EP also features a collaboration with fellow Italian (now based in the US) Simon Wish (@simon-wish), whose 'Art Revolution' is a deep bomb containing a spoken word vocal with a message.

'Clock' is the closing track here, and again proves the prowess of Rowee at the mixing desk - the track is a tightly constructed groover - packed full of energy and the perfect track to drop on a tiring dancefloor.

The latest release features Anturage and Saccao - artists who have been building very strong reputations over the last years. Anturage (@anturage) is a production duo from St.Petersberg while Saccao (@saccaodj) needs little introduction, having had a string of killer tracks released on labels including Suara, Toolroom and Global Underground. 

Here, the guys put together a sick release for Steve Bug’s imprint. 
'Moon River' is a deep and techy roller, featuring tight percussion and a bold, lead synth line that will see it stand out from the crowd this year.

'Crop Circles' is a more reserved affair - but no less lethal. A driving groove develops into an expansive dancefloor moment over the course of six and a half minutes.

'Age of Revolution' finds its groove early on - a shuffling beat provides the base for an epic, emotional journey into the night.

Those with a keen ear for the ebbs and  ows of the underground scene will be well aware of the the emergence of Florian Kruse’s (@floriankruse) and Hendrik Burkhard’s (@hendrik-burkhard) TheGround project (@the_ground_official). Kruse is of course well known for his extensive career in underground house music in the German capital, but connecting with Burkhard in 2015 took him to a different level. The guys got together in 2016 to create this body of work, building on their shared chemistry and artistic compatibility. The result is 'Dediction' - an album that showcases exactly what is getting people so excited about this project.

Kicking off with the emotive and epic intro 'Sirens Call', the album soon clicks into gear with lead single 'Homeless Hearts'. The track exemplifies the duo’s effect on each other - the slick, nuanced and spacy production gives way to a powerful groove, providing the perfect backing for Burkhard’s dreamy vocal. 'Undercover' keeps things rolling, thick with minor chord synths flourishes and punchy drums. Two of last year’s standout tracks - 'Crack in the Wall' (feat. Mi.li.an) and 'Going Against The Grain' are included here with radically new versions - both moving and atmospheric pieces that defines the album’s sense of beautiful melancholia. Co-written by Raphael Hofman 'Silence' occupies a similar space while 'Through The Darkness' feat. Saccao (@saccaodj) comes with a more direct approach - a powerful tech-house workout featuring incredible synth programming and moments of pure euphoria. 'Creature' also brings the heat with a thick growling bass and precise, arpeggiated synth lines that cut through the mix like lasers. Rounding out the album is 'Falling' (also featuring the vocal prowess of Mi.li.an) - yet another moment that finds a balance between the pure release of the dancefloor and the dreamy, woozy feel Kruse and Burkhard seem to tap into with every release.
Fittingly, the last word is given to another sublime collaboration - Kingdom Of Crumbling Walls features Vincenzo (@vincenzo_official) & Mi.li.an alongside Kruse and Burkhard, elegantly showcasing the power of their emotional, melodic songwriting.

Audiomatique welcomes Ken Hayakawa for his debut on the label - and what an impact he has chosen to make. The man from Austria with the Japanese name drops two chunks of exceptional house music - deep, rolling and a little bit gritty. 

'Ronald' finds a shuffling groove and locks right in - a thick kick sets the pace while an almost motorik rhythm develops, augmented by sparking melodic shards and a deep and slightly menacing bass growl. As the track unfolds, Hayakawa also finds space for some epic string flourishes - a real tour-de-force. 

'Pennywise' shares a similar approach to groove development, settling quickly into a tough body rocking vibe. Hayakawa then lets loose with the chopped up melodic lines and vocal pads - slick and funky stuff.

Florian Kruse - Beyond The Bloom 

Following from his pair of stunning releases on Steve Bug’s Audiomatique in 2017, Berlin-based producer Florian Kruse drops another killer EP to kick off 2018. Kruse has built a reputation of his perfectly crafted dancefloor bombs, treading the in-between areas of techno and house for labels such as Selador, Poker Flat Recordings and Noir Music.

'Beyond the Bloom' is a perfect example of his approach - a tough groove designed to make you move, with a bubbling, restless bass pulse. The percussion is tight and snappy, and there's plenty of drama to keep the track moving along.

'Blind Traveler' - the name is taken from a piece of art - edges closer to the techno side of things, with a deep detonation aimed at the heart of the night. Built around a minimum of elements, each hit and synth stab is perfectly placed, creating a ferociously effective whole.

Florian Kruse & Hendrik Burkhard present 
TheGround - Dediction Remixes

TheGround is Florian Kruse and Hendrik Burkhard, - the two celebrated producers collaborated on a project that saw the release of 'Dediction' on Audiomatique Recordings last year. Happily, Steve Bug’s label has organised a stunning remix EP, teasing out many new directions from the killer source material.

First up is Stelios Vassiloudis’s sleek remix of 'Creature', utilizing his signature feel for arrangement and dancefloor impact.The veteran Greek producer shapes an epic take on the original.

The Berlin based Jonas Saalbach focuses his talent on 'Falling', which features the remarkable vocals of Mi.li.an. Saalbach teases out yet another slice of perfectly pitched emotional tech house, doing more than justice to the original. Saalbach also delivers a dub of the same track, pulling back the vocals and letting the groove take center stage.

Next up comes Vincenzo’s take on 'Crumbling Walls', which strips down the track and builds into powerful deep groove. The vocals are again by Mi.li.an, and sit perfectly within the melancholic, euphoric vibe.

Fake Mood, the Russian producers, take on 'Undercover' and hone in on the track's innate melodic sensibility, creating a lush, dreamy dancefloor burner.The track is also presented here as an instrumental for the DJs.

Jonas Saalbach (https://soundcloud.com/jonassaalbach) has a penchant for emotional melodies coupled with driving beats and high energy grooves - making the Berlin native well suited to Steve Bug’s Audiomatique imprint.

Working with collaborator Yuven (https://soundcloud.com/yuvenyuven), (fellow Berliner Nicolas Rausch) this two tracker is a suburb example of emotional music for the dancefloor.

'Faraday' is full of drama, rising and falling with precision, utilising strings synths and a slick groove to draw listeners and dancers into a deeply atmospheric world.

Similarly, 'Semaphore' offers up beautifully crafted arpeggiated melodies, interwoven to create lush, dreamy house music with a hint of wonkiness for the heads.

Various Artists  - Audiomatique Best of 2018 

It’s been another bumper year for Steve Bug’s (@stevebug) Audiomatique label, specialising in quality Tech House and Deep House. Some 14 years after it was founded, this retrospective over 2018 proves that the scene and the label goes from strength to strength.

This handy round up of the year showcases some of the distinct highlights from the label, shining a light on some new names that have shaken up dancefloors the world over.

Killer tracks by Ken Hayakawa (@kenhayakawa) (Pennywise), Moses Mehdi (@moses-mehdi) (Stimulant Scream), and Jonas Saalbach (@jonassaalbach) & Yuven (@yuvenyuven) (Semaphore) rub shoulders with more established artists like Florian Kruse (@floriankruse), who appears both as a solo artist (Blind Traveler) and as a part of TheGround (@the_ground_official), with a pair of killer cuts.

Saccao & Iberian Muse - Hermes

Greek DJ and producer Saccao joins forces with Russian duo Iberian Muse for this killer three tracker on Audiomatique. Their outing on Steve Bug's imprint certainly leaves its mark. 

'Hermes' is an epic tech house monster - a rolling rhythm section underpins some synth work that would make his countryman Vangelis proud. The track has worlds of space and drama in it, but remains a fully charged dancefloor weapon. 

'Morpheus' continues the spacey, sci-fi vibe, building around an arpeggiated bass line and urgent, trippy percussion. 

'Imalaya' is a little tougher, but the urgent beat is augmented with stunning arpeggiated bass and leads, with some fizzing percussion and snare hits thrown in.

Out Of Sorts - Grenada Village

Born and bred in New Zealand, Barton and Hayden Strom make up the production and DJ duo Out of Sorts. The brothers have been building a reputation for slick, weaponized tech house, primarily under a series of other monikers such as Antix, Fiord and Triangle. Here, Audiomatique release two prime examples of the Out of Sorts sound with the Grenada Village EP. 

'Holy Toledo' pays homage to the legendary Brazilian surfer of the same name, taking inspiration from his graceful power. A thick, smooth moog voyager bass line cuts through the mix to provide the bedrock for a fully primed dancefloor bomb. 

The second track is 'Worzel Gummidge', named after the children's TV scarecrow of the 80s and 90s. The track also has a playful side with the interplay between the synth stab and marimba, but also shows its serious side through another slick bass line that locks you into the hypnotic groove.
