Artist: Tm Shuffle [Vuo Records / Ranges / Outlaw / Kontakt]

For the 5th instalment of the Frontier series we are excited to welcome Vuo Records boss Tm Shuffle to the series. Hailing from Finland, Tm Shuffle, aka Jukka Hänninen has been Dj’ing since 1991, and producing music since ’98.  Dedicating himself to the deep end of the House and Techno spectrum.

  For his Frontier mix he has presented his usual style of super deep, atmospheric and often emotive and trippy Dub Techno - Which is exactly what we wanted. This style is reflected in both his DJ sets and his productions. Having released on some of the worlds most respected labels including the likes of Stardub, Mouche, Outlaw, Ranges, Kontakt, What Robot Says, spclnch and Ohm Series. 

  This mix includes some new tracks , some old ones and some unreleased material. We'd like to thank Jukka for his contribution to the series , we're honoured to be able to host such talent.

The producer best known as Huerco S. accompanies One Day, our record of the year, with two hours of minimal and dub introspections.

This summer, Kansas-raised DJ and producer Brian Leeds released One Day under his revived Loidis alias. Enamoured with the restrained, loopy sounds of early '00s dance music, the album’s eight tracks linger in the air, luxuriating in dubbed-out chords, swung beats and sub vibrations. It's our favourite record of 2024 for a reason. 

It's a sound he's coined, in his typically teasing fashion, "dub mnml emo tech." All winks aside, it’s no wonder One Day became the soothing balm we all needed. In a scene overwhelmed by hard and fast trends, the softer—and Leeds might argue, more sincere—stylings of minimal and dub techno enjoyed a welcome second wind. 

Not only was One Day one of our favourites of the year (more on that this week), but it also inspired us to break our usual no-repeats rule, inviting Leeds back to the RA Podcast under a different alias after his 2019 turn as Huerco S. 

"The prevailing trends in dance music are more and more maximalist," Leeds noted. "I missed restraint, subtlety, and sensuality." Clocking in at just under two hours, RA.965 embodies that ethos in spades.

AudioMe has been DJing since 2007. His musical influences ranges from Classic, Soundtracks, Soul and Jazz, Deep House and Dub to his beloved Detroit Techno and US House and also using afresh notes of Berlin producers. He is love to mix tracks with lots of live instruments such as piano, guitar, drums and many more. As a resident of a local Radio (Energy 90.6 fm) AudioMe is always try to make his set with lots of fresh sounds collaborating it with a flashbacks in electronic scene from 90’s and 80’s. As a self-made Dj AudioMe has made a connections with lot of Russian musicians and always use their unreleased tracks for a live sets.

In addition, Vadim Tkachenko (AudioMe) has a project called UnderMe AudioSet (a beautiful collaboration with Krasnodar based musician Underset) which has a stunning mixture lush fusion of ambient, broken beats, glitch and contemporary electronica.
