The first release of Slagerparade - Full Pupp´s brand new imprimt for sought after or (too long previously) neglected classic´s of norwegian heritate has finally arrived. Actually appearing on the B side of Skatebård´s “Flashes in The Night” EP from 2006 which was done by Digitalo Enterprises/Kompakt - Data Italia is such a gem you really need to listen to believe how good it is. A Customer Comment from Discogs on the 2006 EP says it all: “I really dig the b side. Data Italia is enchanting Italo disco. Circuitry Impulse Overload is a slick bleepy techno workout with lush pads, swirls, and classic 808 claps. Tom Glass is a label favourite here at Hope, and with the love he receives from around the Globe, he's more than welcome to be back on our imprint.

'Attribute' is a smile inducing blanket of warmth, that wraps around you giving you a cuddle and an instant smile. The pads emit a magical glow, while the bass echo's the melodies creating a bit of a monster. Sometimes simplicity really is the best.

Next we have the superbly titled 'Doodleedoo', and we head a little deeper and more of the melancholic side, whilst still delivering a heavy hit of melodic goodness that just keeps building, until the big didgeridoo drop that powerfully makes a statement and adds a tougher and deeper vibe.

Rounding off the final original track we have the understatedly named 'Nothing Special', because it really is special. A beautifully layered track, who's influences seem, to stem from ambient/chill out tracks. The drop incorporates live drum fills, as t he track radiates a mystical glow.

The first of the remixes come from Han Haak, having graced Sudbeat and Selador, now makes his mark at the mighty Hope. This tasty rework strips things back, but hints at the warmth of the original, before that bassline lands and the energy levels increase.

'Doodleedoo' (Sordo & Rodriguez Dub) is next, and its a bit of a moody one, deep and chunky, and full of atmosphere, as you're locked in to its groove, subtle use of the melodies before the didgeridoo adds depth.

Sordo & Rodriguez also deliver a 'Back To Mine' remix, taking the tempo down and adding a dubber feel, this is rather tasty.

Moshic Feat. Joe Elbaz - Feed My Soul (Guy J Remix)

Much could be said about German house royalty Boris Dlugosch. From his teen DJ years under the wings of Front’s legendary Klaus Stockhausen in Hamburg to his own marvelous tenure there that is pretty much synonymous with the explosion of Acid House in its proto- and post-incarnations.  One could examine his role as a herald of US garage and Jersey house or as a remixer of underground gone pop records. But we will leave that and other stories for the Front page soon. The „Traveller EP“ is the result of Dlugosch and Cassara meeting at a mutual friend of theirs, getting excited about their shared love for classic synths (see Sh-101 for the Traveller bass line) and exploiting the latter’s extensive synth collection. What you get: classic disco, French house, electro-funk, DJ sound effects (that tractor plowed the Front EVERY night) and most of all fun, fun and a little bit of extra fun. Chin-stroking impossible.…
