Well, I have finally finished this bad boy after a good year or so of working on it on and off.  I'd like to apologize to my subscribers for taking so long to upload another video.  I have been rather busy with life, and a 17 minute orchestral piece takes quite a long time to make considering all the parts I had to deal with.  Also I have upgraded my musical equipment over the past year, so I had to teach myself how to use it before utilizing it.

But without further adieu, I present to you a medley of the epic 5th episode from Explorers of Sky.  I absolutely loved the music from this episode, and it's a shame to see such little coverage of it on the internet.  I hope you all enjoy, I am quite happy with the way it turned out.  I think I am going to stick to shorter pieces with less instrumentation for a little bit, so that I can upload more frequently.  Thank you again to all my subscribers who stuck around. In the Future of Darkness Medley - Orchestral Arrangement (Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2)

Pokemon X and Y exceeded my expectations, quickly becoming my second favorite gen (Gold and Silver will always be my favorite). I liked a lot of the music in X and Y, but I was particularly fond of the friend theme. It's weird, the melody feels nostalgic, yet it's new. This may or may not be because it sounds like another incredibly nostalgic pokemon tune, which is also present in this arrangement. Anyways, the source material for this arrangement is fairly simple so I ended up doing quite a bit of melodic expansion and improvisation. Enjoy!

Jungle Hijinx - Jazz Arrangement (Donkey Kong Country)

An arrangement of the Darkrai/Dusknoir battle theme from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky. This is a piece that I have always wanted to hear remixed, yet I have not encountered anything of the sort. But then I remembered I write music so I made an arrangement of it myself :D As the piece progresses, other familiar tunes such as the Palkia battle theme (another I've never seen arranged) and the Rayquaza battle theme. I thought they fit nicely into the arrangement.

What this means is it's an ensemble of pre-existing noises that I edited into a piece, using Pachelbel's Canon as a base.  Clearly this piece was done very ironically, but you have to admit, it's clearly a thing of 'Bee'auty :^)

I recently worked on a VR game called Unseen, that dealt with human trafficking and the atrocity behind that.  The dev's did not want the game to be horror based though, more dark with elements of hope.  The game revolves around solving some puzzles to escape the warehouse the player is in.  This particular track is used for the main menu as well as the the conclusion of the game.

A three-part demo I made to show my style of video game music composition.  The concept was to make music that followed a story, in this case a protagonist's descent into their own personal hell, followed by an epic battle, and then finally their hopeful escape from what was originally their demise.

I had a lot of fun making this, using a lot of aleatory and choir to make as dark a sound as possible.

I love the soundtracks from Fire Emblem titles, they have some of my favorite game music out there. Whenever I play a new one, I look forward to the final map theme. When Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia came out, I was blown away by said theme. I wanted to see if I could write at that level of epicness. I know to some, the original theme is probably perfect the way it is, but this is my personal orchestral arrangement of Twilight of the Gods. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Twilight of the Gods - Orchestral Arrangement (Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia)

Hop! Hop! Donut Lifts was the first piece of game music I ever arranged, starting back in 2009.  I wanted to take a stab at it again to see how it would sound with all the improvements I've made as an audio artist over the years.  To this day it's still one of the most infectiously catchy pieces of game music out there to me.   I hope you all enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed writing it.  It's definitely in the style of my older writing, without the cinematic elements, and thus is functionally similar to the original.

Hop! Hop! Donut Lifts - Orchestral Arrangement (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island)

I love Fire Emblem music, and I love orchestral music blended in with East Asian elements.  Naturally I was all over the Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright soundtrack, in particular the piece Justice RIP.  It combines the complex orchestration that is expected in the map themes of a Fire Emblem game with the beautiful eastern classical melodies seen in games like Okami; which is also done by the same composer (Rei Kondoh).  I have personally wanted to do an arrange of this piece for a while, and it was a blast working with it.  I am also making a Conquest and Revelation piece.

Justice RIP - Orchestral Arrangement (Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright)

By request, there seemed to be a great interest to continue my Fire Emblem Fates orchestral arrangements, so I introduce to you part 2/3 of my Fire Emblem Fates suite, this one covering my favorite track from Conquest, A Dark Fall.  I also introduced another Conquest theme, No Justice, into this arrangement as well as I felt both themes transitioned nicely with each other.  

Naturally, it's incredibly Celtic, but unlike a lot of the other map tracks in Conquest, this one is particularly dreary, to match the heavy-hearted tone of the last few chapters of the game.  I won't say much else because spoilers, but I hope you all enjoy this mix as much as I do.  Oh, and expect a Revelation piece in the coming months.

A Dark Fall - Orchestral Arrangement (Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest)

An original composition I wrote for a client, inspired by a particular source tune.  This full orchestral work is tells the story of a nanoscopic world, where objects normally perceived as simple, everyday things because whole worlds of their own when looked through a powerful magnifications lense.

A World Unseen

Last, but certainly not least, I introduce to you the final part of my Fire Emblem Fates suite, this time featuring a collection of works from Revelation.  I have to admit, this project took way longer than I thought it would, for a few reasons.  One, I realized there was so much good music in Revelation that I could not just chose one piece.  Secondly, the musical writing here is rather rhythmically complex, and when dealing with a 60-piece orchestra it can be quite the time-consuming process to write it all out all while still keeping the storytelling elements alive.  And finally, I’ve been spending most of my time on paid projects, as I am a full-time freelance composer nowadays.  But given all that, I like to think the end result was worth it, and that I’ve done the music from Fire Emblem Fates some justice, rather than none :)

Tracks that are featured here include Lost in Thoughts All Alone, Past Below, Land Below, Glory/Ruin, and End of All.  For what’s next, I may take a break from Fire Emblem for a little bit, I’m thinking I might do some Octopath Traveler next? I’m really digging that game.

Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation Medley - Orchestral Arrangement

I really like Octopath Traveler's soundtrack.  For good reason too, it's very reminiscent of the golden age of Square JRPGs to me, back when the composer only had so many tools to work with, so they were forced to write memorable melodies.  Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, and Secret of Mana were all examples of this, and I find Octopath Traveler to be of a similar style (for those familiar, Ophilia's theme really reminds me of Celes's Theme from FFVI).  I was instantly hooked on the melodic hooks of Octopath's score.  

Speaking of which, this is an arrangement of Ophilia's theme, as well as the music to her hometown, Flamesgrace.  There is definitely a bittersweet nostalgic quality to Ophilia's theme, with a feeling of hope despite being surrounded by tragedy.   And Flamesgrace screams comfort in the midst of a cold, unforgiving landscape.  It was my intent to encompass all of these feelings into this arrangement.

Oh and I'm also in the works of creating a Patreon for those who wish to support me.  I figure the more support I get, the more time I can spend on endeavors like this (life of the freelance musician and whatnot), and I'll be sure to include some nice benefits :) I'll share the details of that in the next upload. Ophilia, The Cleric/Flamesgrace, Guiding Light - Orchestral Arrangement (Octopath Traveler)

"It's been five long years. Where have you been, Audistory? You don't really expect me to believe that you've been napping this whole time, do you?"

I have returned to uploading video game arrangements! It's been a while since I've had a chance to do something like this, as I've largely been focusing on creating music and sound design for indie video games.  I know this isn't the first time I've taken a break, and it might not be the last, but I always want to keep coming back to creating content when I can. Creating orchestrations of video game music tracks that I enjoy is a passion of mine, and I enjoy sharing what I create with you all.

This track is a mix between two of my favorite emotional tunes in Three Houses, Unfulfilled and The Color of Sunrise.  This is perhaps a break from my usual rhythmic, high-intensity style, and is a much more laid back, chill mix.  I wanted to capture the feeling of the timeskip, with a melancholy tone that turns into hope as the protagonist, Byleth, returns to the world.  With a good teacher to guide them, those who are lost will find their way.
