This is a song called Well Heart.  A breakup song, if you will.

but halfway up you realized was as far as it could go
and the burden of this pulling rope had taken its toll

you're sorry that they'll miss but you've always missed you too
and your life was like a vacuum, sucking at the floor
when they cut the power all that was left, was the dirt you'd tracked across these floors
