Love this. So many flavors that surround the main theme. I was really into fusion back in '95, brings it all home to me.

I’m almost certain we played this together with the World Is...band! Such a fantastic piece Audric!!

This tune is similar in one respect to two other tracks (Lunar Zone and Missing Link) from the "FUSION QUEST" era, in which I enjoyed having the sounds of a saxophone as an added feature. This time however, instead of Ben Schachter on the sax, another local saxophonist by the name of Kevin Vannoy plays the melody for this composition. 
This was also recorded on my brand new (at the time - 1995) Alesis 8-track ADAT recording machine, which allowed me to add more layers compared to the first few productions that I did (probably a half year earlier).
With the exception of my guitar (and in this case, Kevin's sax), all other sounds come from the Korg T-3, controlled and executed by midi sequencing, which was all programmed directly within the T-3.

Pinball machines evolved from the bagatelle game and from needle machines: These precursors to the later pinball machines also involved pushing or shooting balls onto a sloping playing field. The bagatelle game was more reminiscent of today's pit-pat (a cross between miniature golf and billiards at table height), with the difference that in the bagatelle the balls were played up a sloping surface and could fall into various holes. Later, variants developed in which the ball was pushed up a separate track with a cue attached to the side before the balls rolled down the actual playing field. These balls hit obstacles or were caught in special holders or openings, for which the player received points. Thus, the term pinball refers to a board studded with nails, on which one or more balls find their way. These games have existed since the 19th century in the form of coin-operated machines. The first patents were registered in 1871.

By the way, the best-selling pinball machine is "The Adams Family"!

These five instrumental suites, from the Beats and Solos series, are inspired by jazz fusion, and House and Techno DJ practice.

The concept behind the Beats and Solos series was to produce, for each work, a musical base of lines and rhythms for improvised solos performed on saxophones, electronic wind instrument, keyboards and live percussion.

The suites move through different sections where the lead instrument changes based on the mood of the underlying part. Each suite is divided into parts that can be selected for play, but the best effect is for all parts to be played in sequence.

The titles of the suites indicate the month and year of composition and recording and are not intended to suggest a time of year. They are presented in the order of completion.  All composition, performance (all instruments), recording, and production by Thomas Parker Williams.  I use no samples or loops from any other source in my work.

WELCOME ALL to my SoundCloud page!

It's always a pleasure to discover through SoundCloud the wealth of wonderfully talented and creative musicians out in the world... all sharing their own distinct and artistic creations.  I'm very happy to be a part of this amazing, creative, and supportive community.

My main instrument is the guitar (mainly electric... sometimes acoustic). I also play on occasion bass and keyboards (strictly for recording on my own compositions).  Most of my music tracks on SC are created, recorded, and produced in my home studio.  Recently, I've been making good use of midi sequencing to ultimately produce tracks that I otherwise would find almost impossible to do by other means. 

Fusion (my mix of jazz, rock, funk, soundtrack, etc.) is the best way to describe most of the music that I produce these days.  I've enjoyed playing and recording many styles/genres of music in the past, and all these past musical experiences influence me today in the way I compose and play.

You will find here on my SC page samplings of new and older works of mine.  The track picture icons more or less help identify what tracks belong to other associated tracks. And I will try to present some extra information for the individual tracks for those that are interested as well.
