Finally, it took me some weeks to get the second Mixtape - but nevertheless, it arrived us, coming from Planetary Secrets.

This guy here also lives and works in Dresden.
Even In case of him not playing some records or performing one of his  LiveSets, you might easily find him, because he's always one of the highest heads also among a crazy jumping crowd.

But to get a little serious, I really appreciate his interest and focus into a diversity of genres, which he also shows with this mix:

Thank you Hakim Murphy for your Mixtape, that I'm finally able to present in this series of mixes bound together as "Aufschnitt"!
I chose this guy, because years ago, when I was still digging without any plan, Hakim seemed to be the first man, with a special manner to produce to me -
it's what I made of his EP : Spectrum Print.

Tickeling electronic sounds, coming from a deep that calls from far away and whcih you really can here in some Lo-Fi feelings.
Also this mix keeps some of these mysterious and soft vibes which we bring to you at home, to fall down into dizzyness after these sunny days.

to all our extraterrestrial friends, who probably might receive this sounds here - it's 2018 on Earth!

AUFSCHNITT #9 - Albion (Highlight Twilight)

So let's come back again to Anna Adams and this 'number-7-special' mix which only comprises tunes being pressed on 7inch records.

I'm really glad to offer this episode again to everybody who also missed it over the last weeks finding it as offline, due to some audiobugs that appeared in the former version.

But still, it's a mood of dusk and sensitivity that lays in this mixtape such as in other sets of Anna Adams that are for instance offering a collection of techno-tunes, when she appears as DJane at events of electronic music.
She's celebrating two P's for likewise party and politics by also finding support being a woman that's involved in the organization of electronic-music-happenings.

Whether it's a dark dynamic of a rolling techno-tune or a far-reaching sound of melancholy, both is what might appear when she casts some moments with music.

This Mixtapes is created with tracks from Punk and Wave, such as Rock and Pop. Find emotions of strength and longing among songs that are composed by female artists like Mona Mur and Tanita Tikaram.

AUFSCHNITT #7 - Anna Adams

Let's have a travel to Bucharest where Episode 11 comes from, mixed by Eirwud Mudwasser!

I recognized Eirwud aka Vlad-Stefan for the first time when he appeared on 'Balearic Bigos' a radioshow hosted by Zambon. 
They broadcasted a two-hour-lasting Mix which was a total calming-down for the listeners and moreover their hangovers.

What I found in the show and in other tracks that Eirwud Mudwasser spreads was a combination of appeasing sounds from nature and the call for adventerous frivolity of wilderness with some frisky, experimental cosmic shapes.

With his own record he takes this sounds and adds either House or Downtempo-Beats. Some genres you might also find in his mixtapes Afro-Beats, Disco, Balearic and much more.

This Episode dedicates itself more to the experimantal-side, which doesn't intend to make you feel confused, but curious to experience what's hiding inside the Jungle. Taste some audio-hallucinogens from the inside and discover what's hidden behind the chirping and clicking you will notice through out.

AUFSCHNITT #11 - Eirwud Mudwasser

Another nice mixtape ! ... another nice mistake?  
Another Nice Mess !

After one month, back as motivated as never before -
with a bunch of new people waitin' to appear within the second year of AUFSCHNITT.

Number 12 (and I'm SO glad that in the end we made it) comes from Dj Marcelle, a woman I've been following for a while now. She hosts a beautiful show on Red Light Radio, Amesterdamn. 

When I asked the Dutch producer for a mix outside club territory, her initial reaction was 'That she plays anything she likes', even in clubs. Her three turntables mixes comprise of ambient records on top of Techno tracks or African singing over Leftfield electronics.

Freedom to do whatever she fancies and not bowing to audience expectations is essential for her art.
But even Marcelle plays some music only at home ; a house full of literature, colourful flea market stuff and some 20,000 vinyls.

In this mix she combines the music she grew up with and whose adventurous spirit and political stance influenced her a lot (Throbbing Gristle, The Fall, The Raincoats, Public Image Limited, The Fire Engines, Buzzcocks) but is reluctant to play live because she dislikes safe retro sets, with amongst others beautiful music from  the Sahel (Fatou Seidi Ghali), sounds from her favourite ''classical'' instrument: the cello (Sarah Neufeld), eerie ambient (Ancestral Voices, Deaf Center) and Italian avant garde (Lino Capra Vaccina). 

Anything goes with Marcelle, also in the confines of her private spheres.

This time - 2 HOURS of warm tunes from somebody who loves forward thinking music very much - thank you so much DJ Marcelle/Another Nice Mess!

AUFSCHNITT #12 - DJ Marcelle/Another Nice Mess

AUFSCHNITT #15 time for another trip!

It's one of the longest mixtapes so far, offering 80 minutes of stories: some mysterious and some frightining.

This mix is recorded by felde, a multigenrelist hailing from Chemnitz, Germany.

Just as a hidden place has the potential to become a known beauty, this forward advancement can be a spring board for felde to keep on working and throwing himself into club-projects and events that are taking place. Offering acceptance towards non-generic styles inside the one or other persons mind.

The mix presented is an education and a sharing of a nonspecific taste in music discovered by felde. However deep you want to get into this mixtape it can be a trip or  pure enjoyement of sounds.  Something spacey to put into the background.

So again I'm able to provide a new episode for this little exhibition of prescious songs. Selected by DJ's I'm bothering with requests for AUFSCHNITT and so I did here:

My first request was made almost a year ago, when I listened to a episode of Balearic Bigos. Zambon was the host of this radio show which was broadcasted on Berlin Community Radio. And again I kept on bothering which finally brought us this:

A soft rolling into romance - the polish way to warm up,
to finally go out for dancing? Or to get cozy side by side with someone to let the temperature even more increase - you can chose!

Number 18!

Welcome back to AUFSCHNITT - this time, first time:
Presenting a DJ-Duo, from Hamburg -> FALLBEIL 
and again I'm really proud to present this new episode!!

Behind this alias are WOSTO and KLUENTAH,
known for heavy and electric beats. 
From 2016 'til now they had a bunch of releases together, 
in addition to records each of both published on their own.

From Acid and EBM over Electro/Techno and Hardcore/Break they use many styles to create their output, being the equal of old and dusty tapes. Especially when it comes to their vocals, it might seem like you're listening to an older and very angry Industrial/EBM-band from the 80s, due to all the crazy distortions and snot this boys put inside their lyrics.

Beyond this style, we now got this mix -
and it totally represents the idea behind AUFSCHNITT.
 
The concrete anger and restricitve darkness opens up and appears to have a spacy side, which finds it's realization in Rock, Funk, Jazz. 
The mood inside this set is a very loose one. 
Joyful drums and mellowing, jazzy sounds make the 90 minutes 
an easy ride which passes by really quickly.

It's hard to get the whole diversity of this mixtape in this small textbox, because also pe. the one or other japanese- even countrysong will show up inside your ears while you're listening to this.

It's her first mix ever published. So I am very glad to be the one able to curate it - 90 minutes of favorite tracks, by Lulu!!

As a woman living in Berlin she's also a part of Dresden's collective 'Disco Dilettante' and a good friend to be close to. Her mix contains a story through tunes from surf to rock, a flow of old experimental songs from wave to tribal, peaceful and exited.

The first mix in the year of the numbers 2 0 1 9 was put together by woman, who shares Leipzig with me as city to live in and finds home inside of it.

It comes from a woman, who also shares the part of seeking a certain calmness and peace inside music. She's a good friend, a helmet wearing spiritual stuntgirl and the force behind this mixtape, offering her most prescious tracks for most prescious times. 

Be exited to listen to this beautiful mix full of songs curated by SUI.

In this times we all might miss a little sunlight. 
Some darker moments can even get more dark in winter, but this also carries the chance to grab a cozy blanket or someone' whos warming up one's insides in the same way, light a candle and celebrate the even most unpleasent.

This mix is the listening-manual to find ones own balance in times of melancholy or even numbness. It's the apeasement of the evoked sadness in times of pianos and melodic chords, cause Beats'n'Breaks can bring some clearity and dissolve the density that already became an embrace with oneself. It's the deceleration for the agitated to better fall asleep.

AUFSCHNITT stands for peeling of the obvious to dedicate some chosen moments to the underneath.

Hello Customers,
back again and very glad to announce the 22nd Mixtape for AUFSCHNITT:

This time with some sweet and funky salutations from Amsterdam, the Netherlands - send by Marco Antonio Spaventi!

MaSpaventi is the first person appearing on AUFSCHNITT that is most of all busy as a mastering engineer. He's been working on realeases for Delsin, M>O>S Rec., Malka Tuti aso. Nevertheless, he has also published a load of powerful and high-quality own records and tunes, reaching mostly from deep house to acid house. Besides of all that he is one part of R-A-G, Crystal Maze and the Gifted Culture Collective.

Showing up as a Dj his sets might be filled with tunes from Techno, House and Electro. Him recording a mixtape will open the chance to discover more genres such as Ambient or any Field Recordings.

In our case it's again only music that someone loves to celebrate with himself being outside of the clubcontext. It's 90 minutes of spacy and funky tunes.
Nice and raw sounds from the 70s will be filling up your ear.

AUFSCHNITT #22 - Ma Spaventi

He Listenees!

Spring comes around and is bringing us some fresh colours, so does AUFSCHNITT with a slightly changed skin to bring some new season on our desktops!

Here we go with another episode, a special one I've been looking forward to for a while, provided by DJ and producer Anatolian Weapons from Athens, Greece.

Over the last just passed times this guy gained more and more attention by realeasing a bunch of edits, tracks, remixes and dj-mixes. By his appearance in different projects he marked his way through the internet- and clubscene.

The style he conveys over all his output can be a quite diverse from the dark and tribal downtempo section to a for instance very fast, ravy and housy sound of paradise with the taste of some preserved 90's dreams.

To break down from all that we're back to the demands that AUFSCHNITT requires. 

To say it in Mos Def'ish: "Quiet Dogs Bite Hard", and who's the hard barking, can be a quiet, too of course. To make my point besides my failing lyric-dropping: This mix starts with a total down-swift to some spherical ambient and developes into the sounds I might have tried to describe in whatever A.W. realeases or shows up with. 

The sphering and dreaming sound-carpet reaches the point where some beats underfill the spirit. A little breaky, a little drummy - turning into something really warm also organic and landing into a melancholic wavy mood.

Whether she's showing up in a Club or in this mix, she's juggling very balanced with seriousness, joy, epicness and also some comedy inside her selections. Balance that comes from even standing on only one toe, straightening the insides towards the illumining sky, centralizing the breath and being held by ones own wings.

As the intro says, human being might not be able to hear those beautiful chantings by the birds in its high frequencies, she probably does. Those sounds of chirping and twittering are such an important part of the tracks being held inside here. A story not only told by this small creatures but by a bunch of vocalists, offering their words to beats from Indie, Synth', Reggae and Alternative Rock.

Catch Miss Take on a dance-floor and you will find her spreading young and feminine power in her mixes taking care of tracks from Electro, R'n'B or Trap.

And also on those dance-floors she will never loose her soul or this warm feeling of blooming, which this mix evokes by always finding it's peace between a fresh melancholy, upcoming hope and a slightly punching feeling of Wanderlust. Be ready for a journey you want to experience again and again and again and again...

… and as I learned from her: Always keep your eyes open.

AUFSCHNITT #25 - Miss Take

Dear Listeners,

it's AUFSCHNITT #26 and I'm very exited to present a Leipzig based real Bavarian beauty: Beda

For sure: I'm always really curious about what people will send to me.

Offering the space to open up for ones most beloved tracks, allows to uncover an own quality and a very personal approach towards tracks and sounds, without having the duty to please anyone. It's very interesting to find out the proportionality between what people are playing inside the clubs and what they chose to appear with in the AUFSCHNITT mixes.

So above all different genres or speeds, there is always a special sound, that somebody seems to live close to or feels naturally comfortable with.

In this case, listening to the first minutes of Bedas AUFSCHNITT evokes a feeling of earthing and grounding. It's starting with a calm part, which almost seems like someone is finishing a cool and adventurous walk into a deep summer forest. A sunset and a last warming up of the air - a lightening of the surrounding gets more and more replaced with shades of dusk. You can definitely hear some small creatures, that are somewhere next to you. Probably they are playing some very tiny instruments from different distances.

Bob Ross should have been the one commenting on this I guess, cause he would use words like 'joyful' and 'fun' for what the second half of the mix develops to. More vocal-based songs find their way into the mix and the fresh dynamic of some drums and chords open up the night by maybe letting us approach civilisation again.

Whether from a conventional German, Austrian or Swiss tradition of some very unconventional music decades, it's very much this combination that Bedas inner sources are taking their heart from.Tunes from Ambient, New Age but also Space Rock and Psy will appear in this mix. Catch him playing in a club and listen to a wide interest into Synth, Disco or Electro songs, mostly fed with some souls from the mentioned countries.

For me, this mix holds the much better cliche, that a foreigner could have thinking about a German culture, but being confused with the Bavarian one!

The longest duration of a mix so far deserves the widest text of course. I'm very glad to have this mix inside the series.

AUFSCHNITT #26 -  Beda

Dear Listeners,

it's AUFSCHNITT #27 with a beautiful contribution sent by someone I appreciate very much, for what ever her music brings to life. The most filigree sounds she casts is so delicate and even the lowest punch she makes is set so toughly. Her Boiler Room Live performance I discovered was a great online pleasure to me and I guess a very cool play and sensible intuitive joy for her.

I am very glad to announce this episode which was recorded by → OURI ← !!

Montreal seems to be a good place to stay, I think. RAMZi and OURI are two names on my list of people I enjoy to follow on their ways in music who are both from this location as same as the SODA KIDS who are creating high quality pleasure in my homestay Leipzig.

OURIs releases are quite diverse. The first record she released in 2018 offers a mix of a very housey and a little pop-pathetic pathos sounding that's being cracked by some concrete bassy breaks in beats. It's the balance between the harmonic space of ingenuous wideness and longing she builds, facing the kicks that continuously keep on waking you up from a romantic dream, pushing and urging you further to the reality of life – offering you power to keep on walking. Check out the hymns called 'ESCAPE' and 'DOWN' from that album.

A second version of this album found it's way to our atmosphere which is the remixed version of 'WE SHARE OUR BLOOD' where people like Mobilegirl and FJAAK put their efforts on.

Listen to OURIs AUFSCHNITT and try to find the same delicacy in every melody you will receive to your ears. A very contemporary approach to classical music is what I also found inside. Light sounds of bells, strings and harmonic spaces, many natural sounds and very deep or warm basses keep on joining the travel inside. Always make the journey to its end because a warm hugging unreleased track of OURI herself will leave you from this really lightening mixtape.

I am really delighted to welcome OURI the AUFSCHNITT project.

Heey Leute! Hallo Listenees!

It's another Mix and I'm quite late with my favorite task which is
to write some words! So here we go with AUFSCHNITT #28 - Crème Delir.

I am really glad that there is such a wide interest in contributing a mix to the AUFSCHNITT series. A lot of people have been asking me if they can record a mix for this project here, which really is nice feeling to get so much support! 

It also happened one day that Crème Delir asked me to do a mix and this is how we got here. A very unique mix, which happened to more be some kind of radio-show. A beautiful mix through a colorful soundscape. Tracks from Funk and Soul, times chilled – times more a storytelling are waiting inside this recording.

Catch Crème Delir playing at Fusion Festival like a humanized Jukebox could never bring more joy to the dancing people. Who ever contains a detailed listening towards even the finest sound, loves the most delicate changes. This mixtape appears to be very lovely and embracing. Time to catch a camel & take the ride on a deep breath of the desert that brings some smoky heat. Welcome to your own and personal time off, cause the spaces in-between is what we create. Welcome to the DJ Maik Travel Agencies --> your personal holiday guide you definitely will learn to trust! 

You all should know that what ever holds you back from calming down or from decreasing your tempo for sure will loose its force by listening to this:

A mix, that's taking you back to the most 70s Sci-Fi heavens you can imagine. It's the specific journey of relaxation making you loose every tension and it's also the other side, 
the vice versa of an eager music-loving in its deepest layers.

An other side: That's how the AUFSCHNITT creation once started. 

When the idea of this series firstly came up into mind,
it was the felt need to open up for more spaces inside music, alongside a vibrating club-scene that seemed to set an underground main-stream. Open your ears and look further beyond the club appearance, 'cause this is what we try to do in every mix we come up with.

DJ Maik from Solid Rotation hosts the beautiful event called "Futuro Grande" in a city we share as home: Leipzig. 
The melodic and funky sets he plays could catch a nerd and a chart-lover at the same time. It's time to disco and to house - and here: To vice versa, to peal off and to open more space to focus on what ever this guy also loves to listen to in his own most precious moments.

Enjoy this mix, cause I'm really glad to finally have one.

🌱🌱 Naja, it's never too late: Türchen #8 vom AUFSCHNITT ADVENTSKALENDER öffnet sich 🎁🐖

Später soll's nicht mehr werden bei mir.. Aber für die besinnlichen Abendstunden haben wir hier genau das richtige zum Runterkommen, Rumsiechen und zum Ohren-Bemühen.

🎁🧚‍♀️ Hach wie schön, gleich drei Schweinchen haben das heutige Türchen für den AUFSCHNITT ADVENTSKALENDER #13 befüllt. Freut euch auf Pia und Maria, die zum Sachsen-Kernteam des Camp Cosmic Festival gehören und Heidi, die nun wirklich so gar keinen Grund hat sich zu verstecken 🐖🐖🐖.

Auf diesen Mix hab ich tatsächlich schon sehr lange gewartet. Meine Anfrage an Pia ist schon sehr lange raus und wurde nun mit einem kleinen Plus zusammen getan und das durch den Zusammenschluss mit Maria. Beide kommen aus Dresden  und halten sich mit dem Auflegen trotz vieler musikalischer Erinnerungen eher zurück.

Sowohl von den beiden DJs als auch der Kunstschaffenden, in diesem Fall Heidi Eckstein, existiert keine nennenswerte Online Präsenz. Ich hoffe, das wird sich bald noch ändern, denn hiermit sei der erste Schritt getan. Von illuminierten Kästchen über wunderbare Aquarelle hat auch Heidi noch einiges in ihrer Rückhand.

Ich bin in den letzten Jahren was Weihnachten anbelangt ehrlich gesagt ein wenig abgestumpft. Dass nun ausgerechnet ich derjenige bin, der 'nen Weihnachtskalender aufzieht, ist mir selber schon ein wenig suspekt.

Mit jedem einzelnen Tag freu ich mich mehr auf alles das an Weihnachten, was sich nicht mit 'ner Flasche Cola oder dem Erzgebirgischen Schwippbogen erzählen lässt, sondern eben unsere ganz eigene Herangehensweise an diese Zeit darstellt.

Da zu kommt heute wieder ein neuer Beitrag:

Der musikalische Teil wird von Franziska aka Bocu und ihrem Kompagnon Johannes geliefert. Alle Tracks sind von Ihnen selber produziert, arrangiert und gemastert. WOW und Danke dafür!

Heute bin ich wieder später mit von der Partie und ich verspreche euch, es sind nur nur noch wenige Posts und dann seit ihr mich hier für eine Weile los.

🌱🐖🐖 Dear Subscribers and Supporters,
to all the friends: It's time to come to an end. 🦖🦖🌱

The very last episode of AUFSCHNITT Vol. 1 is uploaded right now. 

I decided to get this series to a point, from where I am able to do a break. A break to come back with new inputs, to find an  appaerance thats more varitable, to focus a little better on other things. But for one last time:

It's Number #30!!!!!  

And yes I am very glad to have this beautiful mix, which Parole Emil! has sent me through.

This last mix, is the best summary of all the mixes I was able to publish within this series. It's a mix focusing on all the music that's not getting played inside the clubs. A mix that's filled with tracks which one's listening to at home - being held behind the club appearance.

Keep on loving the alternation of moods inside or outside this mix and learn some laws by the deep sound of souls that chants to you via scapes of melodies and punches of a bouncy beat from this collected tracks.
