"Unkind Beats" is a masterfully executed fusion of characterful, intricate chords and classic 909 drum sequences. The pounding beat serves as an undeniable club tool, transmitting the energy of simplicity from past times to the present. A continuously evolving synthesizer line embodies the distinctive Ben Ritz sound. The symbiosis of these two dimensions appears as a merging of the past three decades, communicating with the experiencing individual's body and mind.

Ben Ritz - Unkind Beats

The progressive, broken rhythm guides the arrangement of several laser and synth sounds, gradually modulating over time.
Subsequently, a frenetic interplay between high-pitched drums and fleeting, peculiar sounds creates a digital amusement park-like atmosphere.
"Ride With Us" grants the listener glimpses into a unique and visionary sound landscape, instantly captivating its senses.

Xen Chron - Ride With Us

The track starts with a focus on the stumbling beat and gradually evolves into a supersonic vibe, supported by a flangey dub melody and the aesthetic of fluttering forward and backward-played hi-hat sequences. A repetitive humanoid voice subliminally communicates through confusing number sequences.
"Vertigo" is an outstanding composition that merges the stylistic elements of different genres.

Scoped - Vertigo

The analog production "A Small Piece From April 26" takes listeners on an acoustic flight through playful ambient sonic landscapes—a captivating sound story. 
Guided by synapse-stimulating, consciously employed crunchy percs and drums, its driving rhythms have the power to transport the individual into a trance-like state. Despite its 9-minute length, the composition's development remains fascinating, consistently energized by its organic characteristics.

Every year, Alfonso, the artistic director of Mostra, hides a few cards up his sleeve, and this time one of them was DjSport. Closing the Friday program at Fabra i Coats is never random, it’s a statement, and by the time her halftime pulse began rolling through the space, we all knew why she was there. The groove was elastic, full of tension that never broke until she decided it should. Then came the shift: precision turning into pressure, tempo climbing until Fabra felt like a steam room. Just when it seemed ready to tip into chaos, she had her “hold my beer” moment, controlled detonation, a sudden swerve into broken, bass-heavy terrain that felt like opening a window mid-storm. From there on, it was cruise control, the kind that hums with energy yet never loses composure.

Mauritius-born and now based in Barcelona, DjSport carries that balance of warmth and unpredictability wherever she plays. Her debut at Mostra was the kind that makes you trust Alfonso’s instincts even more, those mysterious names on the poster that end up defining the memory.

On the third night of rural, OCCA delivered a truly "unconventional" set.

With IDM-oriented, programmatic techno sounds, trance-infused half-step rhythms, and moments of pure psychedelia woven throughout, his performance turned the night into something close to a special ritual.

As a DJ who continues to explore the uncharted territories of dance music and present futuristic visions of it, OCCA captivates not only the connoisseurs but every single person on the dance floor. Please enjoy his uncategorizable, sonically hypnotic dance set.

Loek Frey is a producer, DJ and live artist from the Netherlands whose work defies easy categorization. Blurring the lines between techno, experimental, IDM, and ambient, he crafts a sound that is at the very forefront of avant-garde electronics. His exceptional releases on Omen Wapta & his own OQAD perfectly demonstrate his mind-bending expertise and finesse in the studio. Whether through his DJ sets or live performances, Loek is renowned for dismantling the minds of the dancefloor, having brought his electronic alchemy to the controls of legendary parties like Ratherlost, Berghain's Saule, De School, pe:rsona, Refractor and many more.

For MNMT 494 Loek Frey pilots a descent into uncharted sonic territories: a transmission from a haunted and murky alien world, unfolding as a piece of cinematic sound design for a forgotten sci-fi landscape. Hi-tech fragments, ghostly echoes and unconventional grooves weave through the dense atmosphere creating an ominous yet deeply alluring hypnotic pull. A complex deep space trip of sophisticated sound design and psychoactive exploration.

“KUNE was one of my favorite festival experiences this summer. It was an absolute honor to be invited, especially for a set surrounded by fellow story tellers and music selectors I deeply admire. Wild and generous location, giving so much space to move at your own rhythm. I felt connected to the beautiful community that gathers there and held by the presence of the sea, which was like a constant anchor.

The curation stood out. Long sets, excellent sound, beautifully designed stages, and this subtle intensity I keep finding in Denmark. I learned about Yndelov ~ a kind of quiet code that encourages not thinking you’re better than anyone, even when doing something exceptional. I found that spirit present in the way the festival was curated and lived ~ generous, grounded, and without ego.

My set took place between 3 and 6am, in the belly of the Vessel stage, a concrete bunker. The sun rose halfway through ~ I didn’t see it directly, but witnessing it light up people’s faces as they danced was equally moving. Squeezed in between Peachlyfe's dreamy vibe, and Lund & Ronde goblin psy ride I really couldn't be happier.

Hewan Aman is a DJ, sound explorer and artist whose sets move between deep bass, atmospheric layers and emotionally-charged rhythms. Drawing from dub, trance, breaks and experimental club music, she plays with contrasts ~ shadow and light, softness and impact ~ creating space for both introspection and collective release.

Captured live from the concrete belly of the Vessel stage, this set chronicles Hewan Aman’s masterful three-hour navigation from the depths of night into the first light of dawn at Kune Festival. The journey begins in shadow, moving through darker, psychedelic territories, with the mix evolving as the sun begins to rise, skillfully evolving and giving way to an ascendant wave of deeper, euphoric, trancey luminosity.
