The first part of the music underscores the climatic moment in the fight between Wu Song (played by Raja) and the Tiger (played by Xavier). Towards the end of the performance, as Raja knocks the tiger out, Xavier whispers to him a request to give him a solid, final “knockout blow” so that his character can die dramatically. Raja delivers the final punch, and the audience, including the Queen and her family, erupt into thunderous applause and cheers. Raja looks momentarily stunned by the response, and realises that he has made his late Appa proud with his performance. Henry also overcomes his disappointment in Xavier and proudly embraces his son.

The town of Tampines decided to celebrate Singapore's Golden Jubilee with a travelling flashmob in the town centre. We were commissioned to create a medley of Singapore songs for the flashmob.

A cover of a heartfelt Chinese ballad that Rit and I made. Rit is a very well-regarded young Singapore flautist. We added elements of another Chinese ballad "那些年" as well as Forever Love as they had common themes with this song that we were covering. In the final chorus, you'll hear the choruses of 那些年 and 小幸运 complementing each other. Which song functions as the counterpoint? We shall leave it to your discretion!

Shape Of Paganini

August is a prolific and multifaceted composer, arranger, music editor, soundscape designer and keyboardist. He has done work for films, animated series, theaters and theme parks.

His commissioned projects, although commercially-geared, contain unique and interesting artistic choices and flavors without alienating the general audience. Over time, he has developed the ability to translate creative descriptions into musical realizations, giving collaborators and clients what they had asked for, while pleasantly surprising them with his personal reading of the given brief.

Constantly learning and evolving, his creativity and technical capabilities have grown. These qualities – as well as his ability to understand the requirements of a project, for adapting rapidly in the face of changing situations, for delivering what is required with speed – have won over producers, directors and even other composers and arrangers whom he has worked for.

Classically-trained at Yamaha Music School, he started out as a traditional pencil-and-paper composer, eventually embracing music technology, although he is equally adept scoring for live ensembles. In the process of writing for theatre, animation and film, he has learn the art form of telling stories using music as a medium. He has been taught and mentored by creatives forces such as Dr Robert Casteels, Mr Michael Koh, Mr Bang Wenfu, Mr Jonathan Lim (aka Jonichiro), Mr Rit Xu and Miss Jalyn Han, just to name a few.

He is trained and knowledgeable in a few major audio-related software: Ableton Live, Sibelius, QLab, Pro Tools.

With a mobile setup, he is able to work anywhere away from a traditional studio setting. This has greatly enhanced the tryout and feedback process as clients and collaborators are able to request for and preview changes on site, thus doing away with multiple emails and waiting time.
