Type III 45 brings you Detroit native Augustus Williams. His set is a testament to his artistic evolution. In this exclusive hour and a half journey, Augustus Williams takes listeners through a dreamy yet sinister funk realm, marked by his Detroit take and roots. This DJ set is a showcase of his ability to create a minimal, psychedelic groove, enriched with his unmistakable punch—truly minimal funk that commands your attention. The mix features heavy, thumping bass and expansive soundscapes, interfaced with twisted, psychedelic vocals, creating an immersive experience. It’s a vivid representation of how Gusto’s unique style is geared towards the rhythm of the dance floor.

Artist Bio:
Augustus Williams, aka Gusto, is best defined by his pure Detroit sound, while incorporating funky house brought on by the memories of his childhood. At an early age, Gusto discovered a love for the Motown sound, but the music that captured him first was hip-hop and the genuine style and funk infusions. Gusto began to direct his energy through drum machines and sequencers, often combining those efforts for a no less than impressive show. Playing mostly live shows for the better part of the last 18 years, people often forget he started out as a DJ. In the studio, his tracks are made with the DJ and the dance floor in mind, and with this production thought he has developed the sound that defines him as a truly unique artist. The rest is not history, but the future for this talented die-hard as he continues to this day to kill dance floors with intense bass and funky hooks on that legendary Detroit sound he is known for. Augustus joined the Techno Snob collective in 2012 shortly after its inception in Detroit, and continues to promote the Detroit techno culture while further growing his craft.

This bunch of real PSYCHO THRILL Cologne Techno classics, played at a SUBSTANZ AC allnighter @ Musikbunker Aachen/ GER on carnival Sunday, March 7th, 2016 (Vinyl Only like always, and finally now in '23 remastered in WAV-file 44_1 KHz 16 Bit quality!).

Where the original sound recording has been now remastered here at its very best by Cologne's finest Bob Humid, the mix itself gives a clear impression of the concept of Psycho Thrill Cologne in its 34th year (2023) of existence, representing still Techno & House without any boundaries since 1991. No tracklist available here yet ... but people who know, do know!

Cula and I teamed up to deliver an electrifying DJ set that captured the essence of the night. The dancefloor was on fire, pulsating with the best vibes that could ever be summoned.
