This "Beat" was sampled from a 30 year old cassette tape!
The Track was then uploaded in Sweden to be downloaded in London by my extremely talented & wonderful sister aka Bahia.
Just about 15 min passes & she calls me up on Skype.
Sends me back the resulting recording of her vocals. What she sang & how it sounded totally just blew my mind!

During my music education in Sweden, I got the enormous privilege to visit
The Gambia! Learning to play a little bit Kora (traditional instrument for the Mandinca tribe), dancing the traditional ways of the Wolof (while att the same time trying to decipher the rhythmic complexity in the Sabar drums)! Absolutely amazing! Lots of triplets in their rhythms, quite contrary & rare I think in the western dance scene.
This inspired me!

Produced this track first thing after coming home!

The Black Album

Cruel

This track was inspired by a childhood memory of a train voyage in India. As the train stopped at Delhi train station, these little clever monkeys would overrun the train cars. They were trained to beg, doing human hand motions for begging. I also noticed they stole some bananas.

This Album takes you on an almost educational journey through music of the sages, all places, old times and ages. A key aspect of mine is trying to access the imagination and musical nostalgia of the listeners as if to perceive  "The music of Dreams".

Music about Music!

An issue which constantly occupies my mind is: What is a musical experience? In where lies the essence of a sound, as to become a tool for the captivation of human emotion?

	Working with a Sampler is basically recording any sound from any source that I come across. Sampling mostly Vinyl-segments or recording "Open Air" acoustic ambience.

	Sometimes finding myself creating a potentially challenging & disturbing sound, setting a stage for exploring challenging soundscape possibilities for a mind-twisting & captivating sound tool. Then I enjoy the process of where I slowly let the sound grow on me, to the point where all my old preferences & perceptions are gradually being realigned or re-twisted. Driven by a morbid curiosity of challenging my perception of what I might want to "make work" in a process of creation. This creative freedom implies a certain existential responsibility for me, as to what I might choose to indulge.

	The "sampling concept" has to me been an excellent tool for the broadening of my music experience. I like to call myself a Post Modern "Sound Pirate".
Stealing or recycling any sound I come across & creating new experiences of old memories, times & places". This is my vision! Totally freeing my creativity from the harsh reality of the "Grand Theft Sound" being  in progress. In one sense, it´s a Music license Nightmare, but on the other a hand the results are timeless & classic.
