Info about Ez a Divat Band

Live band from Hungary, plays mostly jazzy drum & bass and dub with a captivating female vocal.

The story of the band is getting longer and longer as time passes by. Ez a Divat was formed back in 1993 by bassist Lakinger József as one of the innumerable high-school alternative bands. During the years, the sound of the band underwent some significant changes. The line-up solidified in 1997 with Asztalos Dávid on the drums, Gál Dániel on the keys and Kovács Ádám on the saxophone. In the coming two years, Ez a Divat spent most of its time experimenting with genres adjacent to jazz.

These experiments took a slightly different direction when singer Csorba Melinda joined the band in the last days of 1999. Morphing into a vocal-centred band made the instrumental parts move to the background. However, some of the tunes still revolve around jazz, the emphasis is less on the individual solos and more on the band as it is, that is creating the music together.

Aurality started his obsession with music from an early age, learning the piano and guitar as a child. Throughout his teen years being mostly exposed to rock, punk, emo & metal he started to form a love of the heavier side of music. When he left school in 2006 he was introduced into the UK free party scene and started discovering all kinds of new genres of electronic music and was told that he could make his own at home.... and so, the journey began. The first few years, before YouTube tutorials existed for everything, were spent just figuring out what the program did and just tried to make any kind of noise he could. Slowly but surely after a lot of years of partying and soaking in influence from other producers and artists he started to hone in to his own sound. Blending multiple genre's together, creating a heavy electro sound that people were starting to notice. Then, throughout the years he played all around the UK and Europe, making new beats to satisfy crowds. But from around 2020 onwards he really doubled down on the creative side, making more and more unique music that truly was smashing genres to pieces. His last three albums, all showcase this ability. And now in the present day he still strives to create new things and is always wanting to challenge himself. Who knows what is coming next...!
