The track experiments with Far Eastern soundscapes, reggae beats played on Chinese instruments, the erhu and guzheng, with vocals coming from the Indian singer Anuradha Genrich. Ever since [dunkelbunt]s headline concert at the BEANTOWN BACKYARD FESTIVAL in Bangalore (October 2018) a facination with India developed that began on the tour itself and continued to inspire on the journey home, with the original concepts for the songs ""Velavan"" and ""Ufos over Bengaluru"" (December 2018).

With her beguiling voice, Anuradha Genrich tells of the poetic deity VELAVAN, the patron of the Tamil language. She studied classical Indian music in Madras and in recent years has collaborated with numerous international musicians (Desert Dwellers, Cheb i Sabbah). Currently she resides in Vienna.

So the journey begins with the Indian Ocean moves over the Chinese Sea and finally lands in the Caribbean.

Confronter les images du cinéma et les concepts de la philosophie. Un concept philosophique peut-il aider à voir un film ? Un film peut-il rendre lisible un concept ? Lorsque le cinéma naît à la fin du XIXe siècle, il est considéré comme un divertissement populaire et les philosophes ne se précipitent guère sur son berceau. Comment ces deux domaines hétérogènes, jeune art du mouvement d’un côté, connaissance conceptuelle ancestrale de l’autre, ont-ils fini par se rencontrer ? Il y a une lente reconnaissance du cinéma dans les études académiques, dans le milieu intellectuel en général, et en particulier en philosophie. Au moment où est apparu le cinéma, et dans ses premières décennies, celui-ci était mal considéré. Des philosophes tels qu'Alain, ne voyaient dans cet art qu'un simple "divertissement". C'est à partir de la génération de Jean-Paul Sartre, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, intellectuels passionnés de cinéma, que cet art commence à être pris en compte dans la pensée philosophique. Cependant, le véritable tournant interviendra au début des années 1980, avec Gilles Deleuze, qui est l'un des premiers à proposer une réelle pensée philosophique du cinéma, à travers deux ouvrages : L'Image mouvement. Cinéma 1 et L'Image temps. Cinéma 2. La philosophie investit désormais le cinéma, Deleuze, renouant avec Bergson, crée le concept de l’image-temps, Les " cinéphilo ", qui ont pris place aujourd’hui dans ces cavernes modernes que sont aussi bien salles d’Art et d’Essai que multiplexes. La salle de cinéma apparaît comme le lieu idéal pour développer cette proposition : plutôt que subir les images, les utiliser comme pré-texte et comme introduction à la philosophie. Le but est de fournir aux spectateurs des outils philosophiques qui permettent de décrypter les images et d’en interroger le sens. La conférence ne réclame aucune connaissance philosophique préalable ; elle ne s’adresse pas aux spécialistes de philosophie ou de cinéma. Il ne s’agit pas d’une projection suivie d’un débat, mais d’une séance alternant concepts et extraits de films, organisant le dialogue entre philosophie et cinéma. Il s’agit de faire naître des questions qui donnent envie de lire, d’écrire et de parler. Partir de l’image pour repartir avec des mots. Un livre qui est un passage obligé pour tous les cinéphiles et férus de philosophie et de réflexions, "Vertiges du Désir" est l’ouvrage idéal pour se cultiver, penser et de divertir en lisant la plume exigeante, agréable et érudite d’Ollivier Pourriol.
