Although they've only been around for two years, Washington D.C. based label Better Listen Records has already made quite the splash in the underground music scene - releasing a total of 14 records from some of our favorite rising producers like Joe Corti, Sune, Ari Bald, and Ethyène. If you thought they'd be satisfied with such a prolific output, you'd be wrong my friend...very wrong. After taking a brief sabbatical last summer, the boys of BLR are coming back to us well-rested, reloaded, and ready to share new sounds from their eclectic group of talented artists.

The person leading their return happens to be Dorsi Plantar, who made his BLR debut with the springtime treasure Everlast. Being the first artist to come out with a sophomore EP on the label, the man from Copenhagen has a lot to live up to after making such a stellar impression last year. That being said, if the latest track off his upcoming EP Tack Farsan is any indication, it's clear that Mr. Plantar has no intention of disappointing.

Titled Make Sure You Mean That Shit, this original features several elements that'll make it a surefire way for DJs to get the dancefloor pumping wherever it's played. Festive adlibs? Check! Inspiring quotes? Check! Latin grooves? Check! Face-melting, disco-laden chord progressions? Check! These sorts of elements are what made us fall in love with Dorsi and his sound last year, and we're absolutely positive they'll leave those smitten who aren't already familiar.

The A-Side provides the deeper edge with fast-rising producer Felipe Gordon making his label debut after huge releases on labels including Toy Tonics & Quintessentials with the smooth keys and unrestricted arrangement of 'Rio'.

Homegrown Moment Cinetique producer Freudenthaler who provides a lush, deep, jazz-ladened trackin ‘Bel Air’, joins Felipe on the deeper side.Side B is a more Disco heavy affair with Edit-hero and Monologues Records’ G. Markus delivering ‘Cherchez Le G’ a driving track highlighted with irresistible female vocals.Plus Moment Cinetique welcomes it’sfirst producer from it’s hometown of Sheffield in Reece Johnson. 
The infectious Acid-Disco of ’Montreux’ carries on from his huge success in 2018 when his track ‘Neyt Life’ on Lumberjacks in Hell was supported by some of the biggest names in House.

PREMIERE: Felipe Gordon - Rio [Moment Cinetique]

Fouk are back on Heist. Their new Truffles EP is packed with swinging goodness and comes with a jazzy Hugo LX remix.

After a busy period last year, Fouk have taken the time to experiment in their studio, focusing on expanding their sound and releasing only a handful of tunes. Their ‘Mating Call’ EP on their own label Outplay saw them explore the deeper side of things, while remixes for artists like Joey Negro on his own Z Records alongside Ron Trent saw them show off their production skills with a superb hi tech funk track.

On the flip, ‘Need my Space’ sounds like something you’d hear if Pépé Bradock and Charles Webster would get together in the studio: dreamy synth lines, lovely textures and weird electronics over an ever so sexy bassline.

The remix on this EP comes from Parisian artist Hugo LX, whose love for soulful electronic music and jazz are perfectly presented in his remix of ‘I’ll be down’. His version is filled with shimmering leads, synth hits and some lovely horns for good measure. For us, this is a case of jazzy deep house at its best.

It’s a dancefloor-packing instinct that has garnered the Paris-based DJ gigs in a double dozen of  countries, including Australia, Canada, China, and many countries across Africa and Europe. He is actively dejaying since 25 years now.

Perfect example that you can think globally and still bring the party, KM3 can bust through genre barriers.

He played at least 250 gigs in Paris only and recorded over 150 radio shows since beginning 2000. Seen behind the decks with Young Marco, Ron Trent, Boo Williams, Kai Alce, Robert Hood, Palms Trax, Sammy Massamba, Luke Vibert, Virgo Four, Simbad to name a few... He produced underground hits with rapper Grems and some of his house tracks still got rotations in clubs every week worldwide.
