In 1973, Gil Scott-Heron's song/album, "Winter in America," captured the mood of the country as the hope and potential of the 1960s faded into the stark reality of the 1970s. Written in response to the events of January 6, 2021, I attempt to capture the mood of the country at a similar low ebb in this song.
