Hyaena Fierling - For the Love of Llyw

    "The Artifacts of Visitacion" is a suite in three parts:

    - Approaching the Zone in Harmont
    - First Blind Quarter, Second Blind, and so on
    - The Golden Sphere, and Departure

Titles are inspired by the science fiction novel Roadside Picnic written by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky published in 1971, upon which Andrei Tarkovsky's film Stalker was loosely based. This recording serves as a musical offering to accompany the narrative.

"This song is the result of a compositional strategy using samples. They were all of different length and set up so that there were at least two samples playing at once, and all samples get to play with all the other samples at some point more than once, making them “Old Friends”. The samples are cheezy MP3s pulled from a sample library included with a now long defunct piece of audio software I haven’t owned or even used in well over a decade. This track originally appeared on “Half Blue / Half Orange”, a recording I did with Mr. Marz back in 2004. I love this piece - it’s moving and sweet and rolling and unending, like the love of old friends - you can pick up anywhere inside it and it’s all the same, just like with old friends. When looking at the "you" often we see the whole and other times fragments of the whole or pieces of you and the other. Occasionally these fragments can form beautiful melodies, other times disjointed yet familiar structures of ourselves and those around us. 

Nils Frahm - You (tattered self reflected) remix by Nux Vomica

This is the first piece in a year long project  entitled "Resolution", featuring collaborations between Nux Vomica and other artists.  This collaboration between Conure and Nux Vomica was conducted with more than 5600 miles separating the two artists. A track was originally prepared by Mark Wilson of Conure and layered by Alan Herrick of Nux Vomica with manipulated field recordings, found sounds and synthesis. The title is taken from a JG Ballard quote in a Paris Review interview entitled "J. G. Ballard, The Art of Fiction No. 85".
