'Ice Pop Shop' is a story of violence, loss and reminiscence penned by Aurora Engine, aka Deborah Shaw, who hails from a small, former mining town in County Durham.

Funny and tragic, this genre-bending track, peppered with local references and colloquialisms, plays out to heavy synths and virtuoso piano. Its jaunty motifs pave the way for a working class black comedy set against the backdrop of north-east afternoon drinking culture. Soleros, Cornettos, pricing guns, dusty peaches and a pool of blood on the floor set the scene for an engrossing tale.
