I am delighted and excited to introduce my first Classical Whomp EP, released on Feb 1 2024. Ranging genres from house to dnb to dubstep and bass house this project was near and dear to my heart and took a lot of time, energy, care and love. I humbly offer my hard work and soul's delight for your enjoyment and ask that share with your friends to help me get to new ears.

Classical Whomps: Genesis

This track was a fun creation conceived by the first sequence of notes played solidly, as the seed for the rest of the patterning. I arpeggiated the sequence and then quickly realized that it should have a few more "clusters" with which to fuck around with. Once I figured those out I laid down the drum n bass trax, et voila! Hope you enjoy.

Etude in b flat minor

In honour of the last full moon of my summer down time I've created this piece. Conceptualized on a walk under said moon, and actualized in my living room. Enjoy

Last Summer Moon

Many times while practicing my classical repertoire, my mind wanders and I find myself repeating what's under my fingers. I pressed play on my looper pedal one such time, and the classical whomp was born! This piece originally by C.P.E Bach, lends itself to layering quite well. Enjoy this live recording!

Welcome to my bi-weekly live show. This week, on episode 7 I'm returning to the start... improvisation over dnb & atmospheric tunes.
I began my journey as Aurorah on the scene in Toronto as a live instrumentalist jamming over dj sets.. 

On this episode of Live Jamz, I'm returning to those roots. I've created a Spotify setlist of songs that I LOVE and I'm going to improvise with various synths from my seaboard and of course my electro keys... maybe some vocals too.... I'm excited to experience the magic, aren't you?

Live Jamz - Improv Over dnb

Inspired by two pieces from the Bach family and my love of house music, this fusion is a fun way to get down on the dancefloor and experience culture all at once!

Solfeggiet - It

This piece is a favourite of mine. Set to Erik Satie's Gymnopedie No. 1, and a poem about how I play the juxtaposition of this 19th century piece with my playfully constructed liquid drum n bass build, fills me with delight! I hope it delights you as well.

I absolutely love this track, and I know you will too. Inspired by a student playing Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu in c#- I thought: "wouldn't it be cool to put a deep dubby bass under this and just sample this one obscure lick?" Yes, the answer is yes it would be cool! Enjoy

I'm super proud of the lyrics of this one. Written in segments over the years and complied in this piece of music, this song cuts to the core of existence, remarking about the choices available between light and dark.

Aurorah at Boreal, what could be more perfect! I certainly felt perfect playing this set on these sacred and beautiful lands, to a crowd of welcoming, smiling souls. This festival called me into a community where I feel at home and like I belong and it was my honour to provide my sounds. Enjoy my Friday night soul soothing, magical music.

Boreal Set

I love playing with my Phantom friends at Sunday School: a series of parties run by dance floor veterans and lovers of good art, leading us up to PhantomFest - our annual summer camping festival.

This is my set from the Easter Sunday School edition on March 31st 2024. A mix of smooth downtempo grooves, bass house, trip hop and gentle sways all the way up to dance tunes at 120bpm. 

I'm incorporating my new drum pad in this set, which has me super excited at the capability of my new sounds. Delightedly playing my original songs and re-imagined covers, I had my audience enthralled from start to finish. Enjoy!

Phantom Sunday School Easter Edition Set

This song was conceived in a jam in the wee hours, and brought to fruition shortly thereafter. I very much enjoy the amalgamation of my classical and badass sides... I had some dancers from the national ballet of Canada do their own choreography to it at a gig. Videos on FB. Enjoy!

Op 68: Dub Keys

This song is featured on the 2016 Playground compilation album alongside tons of other great artists and dj's released under Maloos Music and available on iTunes and Beatport. I started this piece a while back and finished it for the Playground festival last August. Definitely one of my favourites! Enjoy

Dream To Live In

The amount of times I've been called the title of this song.... I can't even begin to tell you. Truth is, the label is a badge of honour as far as I see, as it simply means I do not follow the crowd. Close your eyes, and enjoy my version of being Crazy ;)

I have a series of "bits" which are essentially a short musical theme that I like to expose, build on and play with. This is an example of one of those. It's different every time I play it and that's one of the reasons I love it! Enjoy
