Exclusive: Damiano von Erckert - Retrogott - Like This (Damiano von Erckert Remix)

Spreading some urban melancholy with this ten tracker, it's Damiano von Erckert making his return to Will Saul's Aus Music label with his  album The Past The Future. After two EPs on the label in the past, namely PETE and Replica Material, and a remix for Cinthie, DvE takes things a bit further with his third long player. By latter it is meant that The Past The Future can be divided into different sound-categories, which take the listeners from club to space and back to Detroit. Retrogott - Like This (Damiano von Erckert Remix) surely aims at the floors, but has enough deepness, funk and groove to round out Damiano's conglomerate of sounds, which showcase the artist's studio skills. Everything else is for the listener to decide, however to not get involved with DvE latest work is nearly impossible since The Past The Future perfectly does what the title suggests: it brings together DvE's spaced-out sounds with electronic music's past without being out of touch with the real (club) world.

Damiano von Erckert's album The Past The Future will be released on Aus Music on November 25th, 2022.

Yuu Udagawa has been immersed in music and production for many years, starting as a DJ in 2000 she has since gone on to work in sound design and immersive sound.

However, her passion remains fierce for a wide breadth of music with her core influences being rock, hip-hop, funk, rare grooves, latin jazz, krautrock,techno & house.

Over the years she has worked to create atmospheric music and sounds which have since gone on to soundtrack aquariums, museums, offices, esthetic salons, apparel brands, etc. She even contributed a track which was used as a soundtrack to the Playstation 3 main menu.


 
More recently she has returned her focus to electronic music, focussing on making material for the clubs and utilising her broad array of experience to blur influences and innovate within a new space.

Her recent EP for Cyphon was a statement of intent and this mixtape shows her unreal talent as a DJ beyond this.

Sound Support, made up of Lars Dales & Lorenz Rhode, released their first two EPs on Prins Thomas’ Internasjonal, then appearing on House of Disco, Let’s Play House and Permanent Vacation. Now arriving on Will Saul’s Aus Music imprint, the duo deliver three tracks spanning House, Italo, Electro and beyond, showcasing their unique ability to craft fun and well-considered dance music. 
Leading the EP is ‘The Beauty and the Beat’, which combines a crunchy 4/4 pattern with lush chord stabs and a playful synth lead for an inviting start to the EP. ‘(But I still have) Fantasies’ follows, bringing broken, Electro-tinged drums complete with fluttering arps, wriggling FX, and sweeping pads. ‘Eve’, a piano-led house jam of the highest order, closes proceedings with memorable hooks and funky, swinging percussion.
