There’s mooing coming from the yard what could it be?
We haven’t had cattle since 1993
Ghost cows at midnight

I looked out of the window I saw an eerie sight
Yes I saw a herd of shining cows in the pale moonlight
Ghost cows at midnight ghost cows at midnight

I stepped outside to take a look I should have stayed inside
The door it closed behind me and I was stuck outside

A ghostly cowboy then appeared and he said to me
"Ain't no-one milked these cows since 1883"

The cows they started lining up for miles across the land
The cowboy held an old rusty bucket in his hand
Ghost cows at midnight ghost cows at midnight

He handed me the bucket he looked me in the eye and he said
"You have to milk these cows before the morning light"

My hands were getting tired my skin was turning red
I thought that any moment I would probably be dead

The night it went forever forever so it seemed
But finally the last cow was there in front of me

I milked the cow I closed my eyes to rest my weary head
The next thing I was waking up back in my own bed

Was this all my imagination was it all a dream
I made myself a coffee and I went to get some cream

I opened the refrigerator looked inside the door 
My heart it almost missed a beat from the sight that I now saw
I thought I must seeing things I had to pinch myself
An old rusty bucket full of milk was on the shelf
