DJ Harvey is one of the most enigmatic people you could ever hope to meet. His "anything goes" approach to DJing, music and life has created some of the most out-of-sync, synergistic audio excursions and parties of the past 25 years. He has always stayed one step ahead by doing exactly what he wants, regardless of opinion, as an army of one, a cult leader for a last generation of pirates. 

Harvey's critically acclaimed 'Locussolus' project is finally receiving its long-awaited reissue for the digital generation, in its expanded entirety, as the debut release on Harvey’s new imprint HGS. The self-titled album saw Harvey's imagination run wild — from the big room stormer named after the club 'Berghain', the twisted psychedelic minimalism of 'Gunship' and 'Little Boots', to the "Fleetwood Mac on Quaaludes" trip of 'Tan Sedan', the Electro-Funk of 'I Want It' and 'Next To You' which features guest vocals by Heidi Lawden. On its initial limited release, Locussolus saw support from disparate sources such as Andrew Weatherall, Carl Cox, James Holden, Lovefingers, Francois K, Tim Sweeney, Trevor Jackson, Rob Da Bank and Ivan Smaggahe. David Mancuso even proclaimed 'Next to You' a “Loft classic” and it was included on many of that year’s DJ and Record Store "best of" lists.

Included alongside the album’s original full track listing are the complete remixes, dubs and instrumental versions, many available for the first time. To coincide with the reissue, Beatport is also hosting a remix competition from which the winner’s track will be included on a forthcoming remix package alongside new remixes from London’s Kiwi and LA’s Lovefingers, Bears In Space and Warehouse Preservations Society.

Six months after their last installment, Shir Khan and Exploited drop another hot to trot collection of disco edits. As usual, there's much to excite, beginning with the familiar guitar solos, Rhodes keys and dub disco pulse of Antilope's "Singing Ghost" rework. Death On The Balcony keep up the reverb and delay-laden dub disco theme on "Addict For Your Love", whose rubbery groove, twinkling pianos and heady vocals have been expertly rearranged to fit house dancefloors. Finally, Matpat go loop crazy on the thumping disco house cut "Only You" which sits somewhere between Rahaan and Soundstream. Excellent stuff all round.

There should be a new name for Norwegian balearica as they are hitting the sweet spot every time. This EP is no exception, with its retro analogue sounds touching on Ibiza, Italo, soundtrack and all the good stuff.

The Telemark Express is a collaboration between Norway's Kjetil Lagesen aka Kellini, an up and coming disco producer and familiar name on the Nordic scene, Jarle Bråthen. Periodically they both have 'writer's block' but when they hit the studio together, these obstacles fade away and the magic emerges.

Epic Proportions starts things off at a pace with its bubbling arpeggiator, congas and 4/4 beat that build, before the epic synths takes things to space disco heaven.

Inflatable Ego goes full balearic with its reggae lilt, stringless flanged bass and selection of analogue synths. Close your eyes and it could be 1986 in Amnesia as Alfredo drops that dubbed out Demis Roussos B-side everyone's been banging on about.

The title track goes deep with a nagging synth and swells that lay underneath Vangelis like synths as they pick out their melody.

Bright Future keeps the squelchy bass with uplifting chords to send the sun down in to the Med as you move on to your third Long Island Ice Tea.

Once upon a time a great man came back from the shadows. Rumors were told that he once left the big city in a time where the music scene and clubs were dominated by cold music and average beats. He left behind civilisation, living withdrawn in the woody mountains of a covert place. From there on people talked about him as Aussteiger.

Connected to the nature and deeply rooted in the harmonic essence, Aussteiger became a part of the great whole. In a full moon illuminated clear night while experimenting with various unique herbs he accidentally found a recipe to create warm and ravishing music.

He firmly believes that music is his infinite source to gather strength and positive energy. 

After years of strengthening himself and shaping vibrant sounds Aussteiger decided to share his delightful music with the world. He returned from his retreat in order to enchant the music lovers all over the world with his feel good approach and supernatural sounds.

Coming back from his retreat he also co-founded the awesome Dub Disco Label @dubdiscoberlin with his buddy Serj Nosé and Georg Wedel.
