In 2012, I was working for Vilnius Documentary Film Festival, and Mantas Kvedaravičius presented his memorable BARZAKH in our festival that year. My dear colleague Sonata Žalneravičiūtė here, in conversation (in Lithuanian) with Mantas, about his first steps into cinema throughout anthropology. Later in October, the film was awarded by our festival as the best documentary from the Baltics.
When I was editing this interview, I remember Mantas' silences, pauses in between the phrases. "I cut out some of his long (though charming) silences", I wrote to Sonata. I will never forget these silences. They will stay forever somewhere there, in between, cut out.

First time this year sleeping outside, sharing a tent with a friend and her kids - I woke up at dawn (as I usually do around this time somehow). Then all of a sudden all the birds started their songs/talks/ morning routine. Not even one after another, but all at the same time. I looked at a clock - it was 4 am, sharp.
