Confessions of an Austentatious Janeite is a web-based podcast dedicated to all topics related to exceptional classic literature, films, and music. (Especially Jane Austen!) 

In this episode we discuss the newest Pride and Prejudice adaptation, a blog-series called The Lizzie Bennet Diaries created by Hank Green and Bernie Su. 

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries differentiates itself from other Jane Austen adaptations because of its new trans-media aspect. The series has amassed over 2.6 million views since its release in April of 2013. This new modern take on Austen’s original characters places them in the 21st century, revolutionizing the ways in which they connect with each other and their audiences.  Viewers can 'like' 'comment' and even tweet at their favourite characters from the show. 

This new way of immersive storytelling definitely brings in millions of new fans, but what classical conventions does it compromise in the process?
