Eskimo Twins Bio

Since meeting as students in Leeds, these two friends have shared their passion for music. The pair immersed themselves in the city’s clubbing and live music scenes and after discovering a mutual appreciation of Techno, Classic House, Indie, Acid and a lingering teenage love of Metal; they began making music together. 

Early demos generated murmurs of approval amongst bloggers, clubbers, open-minded members of the indie glitterati and earned them a residency at the one of the UK’s most prominent club nights, Wax:On. Shows in the UK and Europe followed along with 2 original EP’s and remixes which won them the support of fans and landed them a guest mix spot on Radio 1. 

Summers spend darting back and forth between English festivals and Ibiza residencies were paired with winters spend in a dark studio full of old synths. Those long days helped tighten and focus their sound producing a 3rd EP and a host of remixes for artists including People Get Real, Jon Dasilva, Twin Sister, Everything Everything, Justin Robertson, Dengue Fever, Peaking Lights and Vosper and Bozzwell.

The Twins have continued to focus on their efforts in the studio in conjunction with DJing and have a number of original EP’s and remixes scheduled for release in the coming months of 2013.

Channeling a love affair with classic '90s hip-hop, an affinity for otherworldly themes and an ear for raw funk, Barclay Crenshaw uses his given birth name to bare his soul and deliver a slowed-down, emotive collection of collaborations and instrumentals. This self-titled debut album is a left-field departure from his better-known alias, Claude VonStroke, but the quality is undeniably the same. The themes of ancient alien abductions and exploration of time and space are discovered and brought to life over ten tracks that sound like a mixture of gold rope chains and new age enlightenment. Modern organic beats mixed with gorgeous melodic moments and underlying grittiness create an experience that is eclectic, expressive and expansive. Coded art furthers the sense of mystery and the unknown, harking back to the past while gazing into the future. 

Guests include a wide array of artists, from bass maestro Mr. Carmack to the U.K.’s inspired Lady Chann, Flatbush emcees The Underachievers, and even a Cool Kids reunion from Chuck Inglish & Sir Michael Rocks.

It’s almost Christmas time and here, at elrow Music, we want to start the celebration with a big comeback to our releases ranks. Label boss and tech-house honcho De La Swing is back with a three tracker EP of two originals and one high rolling remix, by the one and only Mathias Kaden. ‘Everyday EP’ opens up with the title track, ‘Everyday (Original Mix)’, a track with a steady but soft percussion, a hip-hopish vocal line that sings about love, and a nice 90’s infused melody by the middle of the track, with an overall vibe that everyone associates with elrow and its parties. Then we have ‘Creeper (Original Mix)’, that opens with a swifter percussion and starts in full energy thanks to that exotic vocal line we hear in the back of the track. With FX coming and going, the synth treatment De La Swing uses is just mind-blowing and will make the crowd lose it in the middle of the dancefloor, making this carnivalesque track perfect for the busiest times in the dancefloor. Finally, closing the EP, we have Mathias Kaden’s remix of De La Swing’s ‘Everyday (Mathias Kaden’s Repitch Remix)’, in which the German producer twist the original track with a steadier and faster vibe, a bit harder, also distorting and playing with the vocal line and keeping the melodies, making it a more playful tune and fitter for peak times in the floor. Resuming, one huge delivery by the label boss De La Swing, that showcases his great moment, and an amazing re-interpretation by Kaden, who has perfectly understood what elrow Music’s line is all about. It’s now hard to imagine a summer that won’t be sound tracked by Hot Natured’s sleazy Intergalactic funk and distinct bassline brilliance so it’s lucky the boys are back with ‘Forward Motion’ - their first release for own imprint Hot Creations and dancefloor gold in the purest sense. Disco delinquent Ali Love provides lead vocals.

A-side ‘Forward Motion’ is an irresistible creation of moody basslines, eerie electric wizardry and Ali Love’s seductive echoing vocal, which marks a step towards full-blown collaboration song writing where pure melody and trademark slick production collide. Rave keys pierce the signature deep bounce along with soaring synths and lust-filled lyrics that make for an Infectious blend of romance and debauchery. ‘Forward Motion’ is the party bomb just waiting to explode.

‘B4 The Bentley’ is vintage Hot Natured plain and simple. The oscillating synth line will have you hooked and spaced out soulful keys and bumping bassline will have you daydreaming about palm tree lined streets rolling by in your Cadillac. Reminiscent of a ghetto block party, final freaky instalment ‘Ice Cream Party’ features Birmingham’s Below Crew sampled at an after party in a an Ice Cream Van. It all gets a little bit wonky with it’s swinging siren paired with an old school block-party vibe. Sexy bodies will be working it indeed, all summer long.

Jamie Jones and Lee Foss aka Hot Natured started the Hot Creations label only last year and already it has become a towering inferno of future-facing, funk infused house music, both inimitable and highly addictive. Previous releases have introduced an array of talented family and friends including Robert James, Burnski, LA’s De Signer and FB Julian but it’s with their hotly anticipated third EP that the pair marks the amalgamation of both projects. After two highly celebrated EPs on the LA based Culprit label ‘H.E.A.D.S’ and ‘Equilibrium’, Hot Natured now welcome the talented vocalist and musician Ali Love to the fore for future classic A-side ‘Forward Motion’. Known for his own brand of retro Italo-disco pop, Ali’s recent album ‘Love Harder’ was critically acclaimed for Ali’s catchy falsetto charm and his depiction of late night leanings. Lee Foss already gave his latest single ‘Moscow Girl’ the Hot Natured treatment and here, the union of forces reaches full effect.
