Ok, we admit that we might not be the fastest nor the brightest.
We are however, the dearest ❤️
One thing was close to our hearts since a year now. 
@buchneroberst and @theo-meier each conjured up a remix to our debut album AAplus, which was released in 2020. We have somehow only now managed to finish the whole thing. We can’t really tell whether Corona or the general melancholy was to blame, but the main thing is that these 2 remixes finally see the light of day.

Deshalb lag uns eine Sache seit ca einem Jahr am Herzen. @buchneroberst und @theo-meier zauberten jeweils einen Remix zu unserem Debut Album AAplus, das 2020 erschienen ist, und wir habens irgendwie erst jetzt geschafft, das ganze zu finalisieren. Ob jetzt Corona oder die generelle Schwermut Schuld war, können wir nicht sagen. Hauptsache diese 2 Remixe erblicken das Licht der Welt.

Austrian Apparel haben sich über die letzten Jahre den Ruf erarbeitet, bei ihren Live-Sets tonnenweise Synths & Drum-Machines anzuschleppen. Lieber einen Bandscheibenvorfall riskieren, als sich mit einem schnöden Laptop zufrieden geben. Anstatt sich den endlos beliebigen Weiten digitaler Soundproduktion auszuliefern, hat sich das Wiener Elektronik-Duo somit dafür entschieden, sich das alte Brian-Eno-Motto Kreativität durch Beschränkung zu Herzen zu nehmen. Soundtechnisch sind Austrian Apparel aber gerade deswegen State-of-the-Art und haben sich - auch wenn im Techno geerdet - dem modernen Songwriting verschrieben. So klingt 2020.

2020 legte der Wiener Live Act mit "AAplus" (AA+ Records) sein Debut-Album vor. Die ersten Veröffentlichungen des Duos reichen bis ins Jahr 2012 zurück und es gab in der Folge Auftritte am Frequency Festival, Popfest, Springfestival Graz, Lighthouse Festival, Urban Artforms uvm. Doch wie im Clubmusik-Sektor üblich entsteht in diesem Track-orientiertem Genre ein Album erst nach einer längeren Zeit des Wirkens. Austrian Apparel haben ihre ganz eigene Soundmischung reifen lassen. Um das optimale Kondensat aus "Licht" und "Dunkel" zu finden wurde "AAplus" zur einen Hälfte direkt in der (leeren) Grellen Forelle aufgenommen und zur anderen Hälfte in endlosen Studio-Sessions. So funktioniert "AAplus" sowohl am Dancefloor als auch außerhalb des Clubs.

PREMIERE: Austrian Apparel - Alternate Beginnings (Theo Meier Remix) [AA+]

on Feb 21st, 2014, we were invited by meuterei to perform as an opener for Extrawelt at Grelle Forelle (Vienna)

every sound you hear is played live without the use of a laptop or pre sequenced synths. we use live-loopers to add and subtract elements and mix all of it live on a 4-channel dj mixer.
our tracks are rehearsed and every time we play them they sound a little different and adapt to our daily mood and emotions which adds some personality to every live performance.

for this concert we used the following equipment:

The story goes like this: we spent some time in South Africa in 2018 and one day we had a gig at club Modular in Cape Town.  We were there quite early and fortunately Patrick the owner just let us in. Legend.  

So we set up on probably the smallest stage ever and started jamming for a while. Suddenly we ended up playing this new melodic techno track.  Some 6 hours later during the gig we thought, should we drop the track? Damn right we dropped it hard.
We played that tune for maybe 20 minutes straight - the crowd kept going nuts. What a night...

This album version was later recorded and captured on video at our favourite club, @Grelle_Forelle in Vienna.

Aliénore D´Aquitane was a very unusual woman in the middle ages. We read about her on Wikipedia, it was an inspiring tale of the most powerful and wealthy queen back then.
While checking out her history we wished that there was a movie about her life, maybe there is, but we didn’t look it up and wrote a song about her instead. 

Bernard de Ventadour, a noted troubadour, called her "gracious, lovely, the embodiment of charm," extolling her "lovely eyes and noble countenance”.
Imagine her next to great castles and war, intrigue, famine and romance. This is where our song comes from…
