Australian raised, New York based producer Kate Stein makes her debut on Playground Records with ‘Mystic Saddle Ranch’ a powerful Ep full of hypnotic rhythms and beautiful landscapes, composed by 2 original mixes accompanied by high caliber remixes from Autarkic and Balam.
‘Mystic Saddle Ranch’ begins like a train barreling from far away with staccato arpeggios and modulations; like horns warning that it is in a hurry and the energy will not stop. Sensual and seductive at the same time, the track builds with an elegant current of sound. This takes us back to the beginning of electronic sounds, reminiscent of I Feel Love. The glam of Studio 54 crossover with some acid slow electro makes for an irresistible dance ripped dress.
The second track is called ‘Hi-Lo Motel’ and it gets more serious. A bouncing synth marks out a crossover bass with modulations seeping back and forth in alien tone. A smooth and rarefied flight, ecstatic, stealthy and nostalgic.
Autarkic remixes ‘Mystic Saddle Ranch’ by twisting it with a lot of funk machine. A hoarse, scratchy bass grooves recklessly as a dirty, dragged snare beats his side. Cowbells rattle for flavor as acid modulations elusively intersect. Pads of mystery take us to a break
that is quickly attacked again by the bass to unleash a brazen and shrewd dance.
Balam gives his own perspective about ‘Mystic Saddle Ranch’ closing the Ep and doing what he does best, mixing synthetic tribalism of acid modulations and frenetic percussion. His bass, his personal mark, pushes incessantly and cadency. He takes us on a sinuous and enchanting journey while chords scatter us through an open space towards infinity.

The first in a series of various artists to be released by Details Sound - The Spirit Of The Age Vol. 1 is a personal attempt to represent "the spirit" of this moment, an eye on the sea, where the initial intention of powerful and dynamic body music is changing, leaving room for a more contemplative and reflective way of dancing, where large places give space to the little ones, taking back the original spirit of being together.

On the A side, Anatolian Weapons opens with A Series Of Changes - a progression of looped vocals and acidic basslines that culminate in a full, liberating rhythm. Following A Hand Modern Cage focuses on a more hypnotic and evocative soundtrack that can perfectly match an atmospheric opening.

On the flip Gamma Intel’s Note To My Love deliver a mix of broken and electro rhythms that are part of the artist signature sound, ending with an intricate weave of melodic basslines. The last track Dense And Ragged is signed by the renowned london-based duo Vactrol Park who set the mood for a distopyan trip in 2049.

London's Inside Out Records are launching a brand new VA series 'Outsiders' to celebrate artists who are pushing creative boundaries with their music. The first is made up of 14 tracks that touch on all corners of the electronic spectrum from new faces and artists who've been part of the label's musical orbit for some time. The smell of sweet spices filled the air; a momentary escape for the senses amongst the chaos of the busy streets. People shuffled along chattering excitedly and stopping every now and then to greet one another like long lost friends. Streams of colourful material decorated the walls while intricately detailed lamps hung from hooks eminating a warm glow. The market was full of dusty trinkets and kitsch memorabilia from centuries gone by; a treasure trove of lost possessions and forgotten items that held stories none of us would ever know. If you looked hard enough, you could find exactly what you were looking for here. Things you might not know you'd been searching for all along... 

Good Skills is the new label founded by musicians and friends Liudas Lazauskas AKA Roe Deers and Titas Motuzas in their home of Vilnius, Lithuania. For the first release they're introducing us to the sounds they've been making together as BDHBTS, offering up two originals as well as a eight remixes from friends both local and international. Remixers for the inaugural release include native talent Zakmina, Russia's Wolfstream, German poet Bryan Kessler, Belgian producers Strapontin and Asa Moto, Ombra International boss Curses, Berlin-based Moderna and Tel-Aviv multi-instrumentalist Alek Lee, who provides today's tripped out percussive rework.
