Bridges Broken

 Melting heart to igloo conversation,
 like crackling fire upon frozen lakes.
 Tears fall through hollow souls of shattered sun.

 Crusty eyes, from so much condemnation,
 placed without grace, where my heart fully aches.
 Families fabricate smiles through their hate.

 I sense some will never know what they’ve done.

 Afflictions speak to me in foreign tongue,
 through familiar serpent’s repetition,
 uttering maybe just what I’ve become.

 You was a bridge, but now you’re all broken.
