When you think about musicians of Latin America, you probably picture a colourful band or singer, playing salsa or other afro- Caribbean tunes. No matter how beautiful and extended the idea is, that is a mostly a stereotype. Latin America has even more to offer!  Rock bands have been growing in Latin America for decades – since the early fifties - and although most of the modern ones need to fight against the flow, they keep working hard to be heard and acknowledged, not only abroad but within their own countries. One of these young bands is Autobus. They have opened for Soul Asylum, Franz Ferdinand, Jane’s Addiction, The Killers, Capital Cities, Catupecu Machu, and others, in front of crowds in Lima for up to 35,000 people. They have shared stage with emblematic band Molotov (Mexico) and Los Pericos (Argentina) in massive music festivals organized by private companies. New York’s Nylon magazine featured them – among other talents – as a promising band for the future of Latin American rock. Their contemporary indie rock style has influences that include Justice or Passion Pit to Wilco, Spoon, Foals, Cerati and many others.
