Pavel Petrov announces the release of his debut album, Youth, on 1st October via his EXE Audio label. The stunning album is a genre-bending electronic journey that takes in chill out, deep house, tech, techno and more across 11 tracks, three of which are bonus tunes.

Bulgarian Petrov has long been crafting vital electronic sounds for labels like Jannowitz Records, Jaw Dropping, Afine and his own EXE. He has had high profile support from tastemakers like Pan-Pot, Carl Cox and Hot Since 82 and is always evolving his richly layered sounds. Recent months since the world reopened have been some of the most successful in his career so far. They have been filled with plenty of chart-topping new releases and DJ sets at plenty of crowded parties which have sent shockwaves in all directions.

Says the artist, “I was inspired to create this album at the New Year’s after-party and started it on January 1st. Creating this album was an outlet in a time of uncertainty during the pandemic. It holds a message of hope, the power of music, and the desire to be reunited on the dance-floor.:

Youth is the most versatile set of Petrov productions to date. It features the likes of Astro feat Kamalimani with its slick electro grooves and atmospheric vocals, standout single 'Independence,' which has been spun in many DJ sets around the world over the past year, and new single 'In Existence,' which was released with a video earlier this month. Further highlights on this great album include the playful 'Society' with its chunky drum funk and futuristic synths, and the beautifully melodic 'Molanda' with its spoken word vocals and epic chords.

From pulsing club bangers with rolling bass-lines and roaring synths, to chill-out sonic journeys, Youth is a most accomplished artistic statement from Pavel Petrov.

The Minoan civilization was a Bronze Age Aegean civilization on the island of Crete and other Aegean Islands, whose earliest beginnings were from c. 3500 BC, with the complex urban civilization beginning around 2000 BC, and then declining from c. 1450 BC until it ended around 1100 BC, during the early Greek Dark Ages It represents the first advanced civilization in Europe, leaving behind a number of massive building complexes, sophisticated art, and writing systems. Its economy benefited from a network of trade around much of the Mediterranean. The name "Minoan" derives from the mythical King Minos and was coined by Evans, who identified the site at Knossos with the labyrinth and the Minotaur. The Minoan civilization has been described as the earliest of its kind in Europe, and many historians called the Minoans "the first link in the European chain". The Minoan civilization is particularly notable for its large and elaborate palaces up to four storeys high, featuring elaborate plumbing systems and decorated with frescoes. The largest Minoan palace is that of Knossos, followed by that of Phaistos. The function of the palaces, like most aspects of Minoan governance and religion, remains unclear. Orkidz loves journeys into the deep blue when everything is under the spell of the Moon. This is his first offering for Shango Records. These three tracks will take a place in your heart. As he entered the village, the goldfish man again began to doubt if he was in the right place. Smooth stone lined the roadway and, instead of the rough board houses he remembered, rich wooden doors — some elaborately carved — lined the street. As he pushed his cart down the narrow street, lively children dressed in gay colors flew toward him like a festival of silk kites. “Goldfish! Goldfish!” they cried. “Ma! Ba! Can we get one?” Parents walked over and smiled indulgently at their children, and by the time the sun disappeared, the goldfish man had sold out of his wares. Clearly this was not the same poor village he had come to before, where only that one girl purchased a fish. But then he remembered hearing a story about how a family that lived by the Jade River had given the King of the City of Bright Moonlight the incredible gift of a Dragon Pearl, refusing any payment. In gratitude, the king presented the entire village with gifts of seeds and farming equipment that brought more prosperity than any reward of gold and jade. Maybe this was the place. Ernest Oh belongs to a place where animals can speak and trees are made of poetry. This is his first offering for Shango Records. These three tracks can take you to the skies and far beyond. Dennis Allen, RIEL, Yassine H and Yusuf Lemone are the travelers of the plane to the land of modern times.

One night, as the magistrate traveled through the mountains (again on a trip to gain favor for his son’s future marriage), he saw an old man sitting alone in the moonlight. The old man ignored the passing horses and carriages, the silk brocade and the government seal, and simply continued reading a large book in his lap, placidly fingering a bag of red string beside him. The old man’s indifference infuriated Magistrate Tiger and he ordered the carriage to stop. However, even the halting noises did not make the old man look up. Finally, Magistrate Tiger exited his carriage and went to the old man, still engrossed in his book. “Do you not bow to your magistrate?!” he roared. The old man continued to read. “What are you reading that is so important?” the magistrate demanded, and looked at the front cover of the book. With big bold silver letters the title was written on it: “Break Into The Light”. Veytik is living in the place where animals can speak and trees are made of poetry. This is his second offering for Shango Records. These two tracks can tell stories about the World and the magic of light. Dj Sergee, 
K-os Theory and Stephane Salerno are carrying the fire and the light into their own hands.
