t's out of the shadows and into the light with the next release on Ornate music. At the reins is OCH, a name you might not have heard in a while, but whose solid and reliable CV names Sect, All Inn, Baby Ford's Trelik and PalL SL among his label references. In all honesty, it's like he never went away. We get three cuts of precision deepness. Lean, rather than minimal, these are fat-free, perfectly balanced excursions into the ethereal edges of house. Tight claps, subtle, eerie vocal samples that drift in and out of the mix, the mood is uplifting without any need for euphoric histrionics. This is refined music that won't sound out of place on the floor at CDV or Sunwaves or in the meantime, kicking back at home when the sun unexpectedly brightens the winter mood. if you ever wanted to know what a beautiful day sounds like, now you know.

Late September will see Ceri release her ‘Truth’ EP via Decay Records, backed with remixes from
Julien Sandre (Blind Box, These Days, Rawax) and OCH (Trelik, Bass Culture, All Inn).
London based producer and DJ Ceri has been steadily on the rise over the past decade. She shaped her distinctive DJ style playing nine hour sets in the second room of Corsica Studios as one of Jaded’s official residents.
Her rising reputation then led to recognition from many electronic music institutions, such as fabric and Percolate in London and Back To Basics in Leeds. Further afield, after supporting her music, Jamie Jones welcomed her as a guest for his Paradise party at DC10 in Ibiza and she has graced the decks in Berlin, Mexico, Switzerland and Italy too.
Amongst these impressive feats, Ceri is also widely recognised for her studio talents, with her releases and remixes being played by everyone from Richie Hawtin to D'julz.
Title-track ‘Truth’, inspired as a response to Brexit, takes the lead with pulsating subs, bumpy rhythms, tight-knit percussive shuffles and menacing sawtooth bass tones while spoken world vocal tones stating 'we are all equal' and how we should live 'not with our minds, but with our hearts', further fuel the murky, atmospheric aesthetic. Julien Sandre steps up to rework ‘Truth’ next, stamping his mark on things via ethereal atmospheric flutters and robust, swinging drums.
The second original from Ceri, ‘Be Mine’, opens up the flip side, this time round embracing low slung rhythms, a choppy tom-driven bass line and dynamic, tension building feel throughout with resonant synth licks, vocal shots and string gradually unfolding. Autoreply main man OCH then closes the release with his take on ‘Be Mine’, delivering a typically stripped back and groovy interpretation from the Berlin based artist, focused on intricately programmed percussion and gritty bass stabs.
Ceri’s ‘Truth’ EP is out on Decay Records 29th September 2017.

OCH's release rate has been sturdy since he first emerged in 2010, but he's hitting his stride like never before as he follows up last year's "Love Unconditional" for London's Trelik with a new double 12" EP for his own Autoreply label. All the hallmarks of his sound are in place, from intricate and delicate melodic threads to immersive house and techno rhythms, all draped in the kind of atmospheric finery that can't fail to transport you to otherworldly places. By keeping a cool head about what to use and when, OCH has once again demonstrated his talent for reduced but verdant dance music that speaks volumes without having to shout.
