From the moment I heard this song on Crushing I knew it was going to be my favourite album from 2019. The mood, lyrics and themes were just the perfect gut punch. This is our version, made in isolation. I loved the structure and didn't want to change it, so instead changed the key and tempo to give more of that "taking back what's mine" feeling. The lyrics resonated with me the most, they remain unchanged.

After the year we’ve had it makes sense that Autosuggest’s next single is about pulling your lifeless body back into the game. As a part of their second album Introhedonsim, ‘After Me’ further cements the groups dedication to mangled electronic textures amongst rock instrumentation. Like the previous singles from 2020, the song explores the wreckage of a toxic relationship, and the blunt-force stride into chaos as a means of trying to resolve trauma.



A band who’s influences range from the classic rock tones of New Order and INXS to the contemporary avant-guard of SOPHIE, Sevdaliza and Viagra Boys, ‘After Me’ sees Autosuggest lean hard into their pop writing skills and relishes into the chaos of their combined influences.



The opening features a fuzzed-out bass line and the sounds of analog tape shredding singer Alec Mallia’s venom-filled vocal “I want God’s people coming after me” summing up the sizzle of Autosuggest’s recent output — minimalist sound with maximalist texture. Adding to their slamming chorus, vocalist Carla Maar returns in collaboration with the band with a melody that’s worthy of living in your head for days.



With their new body of work set for release in 2021, Autosuggest have come to the point of severance with nervous beginnings and murky sounds, becoming a band that strides to be heard on their terms, with an unmistakable racket.

Autosuggest is an electronic rock band formed in Sydney, Australia from post-punk adorations and contemporary influences. Initially a solo endeavour from songwriter Alec Mallia, the first EP Murmur saw them combine punk-instrumentation with synthpop, deep house and trip-hop. Following suit with their debut album Tame Harm the project expanded with bassist Jack McFarlane and guitarist Jordan Sexty as they experimented with combining the harsh electronic sounds with squealing rock riffs. Now in the midst of their second body of work and their first recordings as a band, the group now experiments with pop aesthetics and indie-electronic sound pallets.
