Strangers in the Night
Quite and desolate streets in a cold grey night. Two lonely people meet each other and a love story begins. This was what I saw in my imagination while arranging this famous evergreen. The leading parts in this romantic story are played by the oboe (soprano saxophone in the fanfare band) and the euphonium. Harald Suilen

This composition was first set to a more aggressive style with the Comanche as a basis for a Prelude for Orchestra.  With some help from Suno.com and work in the studio it is now rearranged to an interesting compromise with a merging of the thematic material transported and reformulated.  Jazz elements deliver an interesting interplay with the Western native American themes (why not?). The Rocky Mountains were called the Shining Mountains by the Ute (an Indigenous people of the Great Basin and Colorado Plateau in present-day Utah, western Colorado, and northern New Mexico., U.S.A.).
