This tune is about gender-neutral body positivity. No body-shaming here. On the dancefloor, we are all equal. Naturally enough, the main mix is a proper booty shaker. With its sturdy rhythm, strong enough to races horses with, it drives like the best of Chicago’s hard-trax, with DJ Deeon as the willing MC atop this gleaming stallion. On the Instrumental Dub, we give DJ Deeon a well-earned rest and let the keyboards and drums do the heavy-lifting, and while the keyboards are low in the mix they offer just the right amount of threat to make the track drive (and possibly, even, jump).

Melodic Beats Podcast #84 Ben Tucker

In this episode we invite Mizzy TheCosmic, the project of Gilberto Miguel, uprising and talented DJ/Producer from Mozambique. 

It wasn’t until the age of 10 that Mizzy started developing a taste for music before he was only interested in visual arts. By the age of 12, he began making use of his creative skills, starting from design and eventually shifting to music where his first steps were songwriting and recording Hip Hop and R&B songs. After a year he made a comeback to electronic music, but this time not only as a listener but also as a DJ/Producer. It was in 2017 that he decided to explore more of the scene by taking his studies in Pune, India where it seemed like the best choice at that moment, allowing him to pursue his studies while at the same time getting an experience of a music scene which better suits his taste. Since then Mizzy has played different clubs and festivals, in-and-out of Pune. He is now residing in Bangalore, India. 

Mizzy’s previous tracks Lea, Beneath The Ocean Surface, R.A.E to name a few. All of his work has been released independently until the date and it ranges from deep tech, deep house to melodic techno, and more… His taste for music is pretty wide, which causes him to not imprison himself only for one genre.

Bassically return with their first bonafide OG material since dropping their deeply personal and spectrum spanning 'Audio Diaries’ LP. 
The title track of the ‘Honey Trap’ EP is a wonderfully ponderous slice of Deep House that’s full of textural goodness; from which 'Baby Steps' gleans the same wistful air, but instead chooses to take the form of a mesmeric, rock-steady chugger. 
'Jaguar Paw' then takes us deep underground to a sweaty, strobe-lit basement floor... before pitching things right down and side-swiping us with a gnarled Swamp Techno workout, that wouldn't sound out of place during one of Weatherall and Pearson's legendary B2B marathons… 
And topping off this fine four tracker is the swing-loaded and stab-driven groove of 'Catchweight'... it's wraithlike vocal whispers combining with tempered guitar and an evolving, quaking synth lead - to great effect.
