Hey all! This is an arrangement of the Phendrana Drifts theme from Metroid Prime, done as part of the Harmony of a Hunter: Returns album that released very recently!

This particular Metroid track has so many covers and arrangements out there that it really is difficult to make something that stands out. Because of this, before I even started composing anything I decided to think of how to approach it as differently and "out there" as I could. I settled on adapting the melody to 3/4 (which works surprisingly well!) and going for a folk/orchestral genre for what was originally an electronic track with icy piano notes and alien-like droning ambience.

Everything was made with East/West & Omnisphere VSTs and FL Studio.

I had a fun time with this one and I hope you enjoy it!

Also, big shoutout to vidboy for the acoustic guitar and Slyvar for the little ending sequence.

Regular readers will know that I often like to ask the question "What do you think?".  Indeed, it is a question that I have been asking my pupils for over 30 years!  Invariably, the answer is "I don’t know".  At a time when we seem to be expected to hold opinions on every subject, perhaps this is the correct answer.  This, I find interesting.
