Live Recording of a song I made one night at Garrthalala (homeland in NE Arnhem Land) playing to a large group of kids with famous didg player Mark Hoffman of eMDee.  enjoy with dancing boots!  oh btw they like it even faster in Arnhem Land but I thought 154 bpm was a good start!  Unfortunately I didn't record my flute and cimbalom tracks..  maybe i'll overdub it and turn it into a shorter radio edit

Welcome to a massive rework of a massive tune: Jekks & Priests of Heka track Supulchre of Solomon Pt. II - Symbols of the Inner Rings (https://soundcloud.com/jekks/sepulchre-of-solomon-part-ii) 
Because both Jekks & I work in Ableton Live,  I was able to get right into the parts and recompose instrument lines and extract themes as well as reduce the tempo by about 30bpm.  The existing samples were dope, but I also recorded some flute and bass synth and added some sneaky western strings into the piece.  Please enjoy and spread the love! Sahra Halgan est une artiste emblématique du Somaliland, territoire situé au nord de la Somalie, indépendant de fait depuis 1991 après une terrible guerre civile. Très jeune engagée dans la guerre pour l’indépendance en tant qu’infirmière et artiste, ses chansons lui ont valu un statut d’icône de la liberté. Sahra a dû s’exiler en Europe.  C’est à Lyon, où elle a vécu près de 20 ans, qu’elle a rencontré les musiciens français Aymeric Krol et Maël Salètes. La volonté du trio est de faire connaître au monde sa culture, les souffrances et les joies de son peuple, dans une forme musicale brute et sans artifice.

"One Voice", the title track of Garrangali's forthcoming album due out in January 2021, is a powerful and heartfelt cry to celebrate the Yolngu way of life in the Homelands. Homelands are where Yolngu teach their children culture and keep them safe while growing stonger for the future ahead. The cover art depicts Garrangali [crocodile nest] with the Baru [crocodile] protecting its nest [the future custodians], featuring Sea Rights flag celebrating traditional ownership of sea country. "The Homeland movement is how the Yolngu love to stay on country, and are willing to stay at the Homelands for all our lives, that’s the go with One Voice, keeping homelands strong, keeping life in the homelands strong. Keeping ourselves out of their influences, One Voice telling us to keep away from dangers. Telling us about self-determination, how to be strong , how to be wise, how to use humility towards everyone." says Mudiny Guyula, lead singer of Garrangali Band.

Tabu Zawose and children sing "Harikotchi Jende," a traditional Wagogo song.  Several little boys were playing drums in the background, not in time, but confidently, nonetheless. *Note: The didgeridoo being played in the background is not traditional for the Wagogo or used frequently by the Zawose Family.

AvaDub explores where electronica fuses with live performance and composition meets improvisation with bone shaking bass and knob tweaking mixed in for the win.  Lush soundscapes with live flute touch the spirit while the sexy basslines reach deep.  Ava is the Persian word for good melody which is well reflected in all aspects of his music. The music is progressive and seamlessly intertwined, this is journey music with the fresh spark of musician who expressing his soul. Lush effects and live synth finish the soundscape off while special shows see the inclusion of the cimbalom;   a 52-stringed instrument from the Middle-East.

Ava is a combination of artist, techie, performer, mathematician and musician.  He started composing 17 years ago with text based computer sequencing and that interest grew until he had a degree in music composition under his belt!  
Moving to more secluded realms in the bush led to a different form of creativity; instrument making.  After years in the bush he finally crafted the world's first chromatic bamboo flute, a flute with the lilting emotive quality of wood fused with the versatility of the silver flute.  He also emerged with an old 52-stringed Cimbalom which produces a sweet resonance, clear and vibrant under Ava’s practiced fingers.
During the era of electro ska band, Heart Tribe, he constructed his ridiculously elaborate setup that routed his flute, cimbalom, xio-synth and vocals through his chunky sound card & beaten up lappie full to the brim with effects.  Ava is now infusing life into his electronica with this live setup.  The resulting sound is both powerful and peaceful - well suited to large sound systems and beat hungry dancers that wish to be filled with evocative frequencies.
