About Kanon EP

Any dance music scene will fall into a stereotyped and boring moment, then new party organizations and music producers will reinvigorate the scene. Loreng and Sanjonas from Yogyakarta, Indonesia are bringing some high energy sounds to the clubs there. Hi-NRG music as a genre of fast tempo disco that originated in late 1970s has a great influence to their producing, though it sounds not so ‘high energy’ now, this spirit is injected into their creation. Loreng and Sanjonas co-founded Bast Culture and completed the EP with this combination.

Kanon is about a holy pilgrimage—a quest for the ultimate answer in the desolate universe. It is the mystery and horror of the ancient existence which hidden in the cold digital sound of the machinery; It is a sense of helplessness that stands before the unknown, which slowly covers the whole body from head to toe when Abyssixsxsix begins. Not until the end of Sun Crane 1844 will you realize that the entire journey is nothing more than a futileness which with the fate of failure from the strat.

Since Sanjonas and Loreng both are visual artists, this will be an interdisciplinary picture scroll. We will get lost in the space they created.

Kaizen, based in Jakarta, Indonesia, started DJ-ing in the early of 2019 and becoming a fast learner on digging hard drums, deconstructed or “post-club” music which also blends with heavy-weight bass music. She is one of the forces in @bastcultura , a collective based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in order to search the probability of collecting contemporary humans' sound experience, and showcasing them in their way. Kaizen also operates in #DISTINKTRIDDIM, a party series that has been going on in Jakarta which also has been featured in an online radio show based in Guadalajara, Mexico called Internet Public Radio.
