Braulio Lam is a music producer and photographer from the border region of Tijuana and San Diego. With "ISO", he has created a very personal production filtered through digital and analog sounds alongside the soulful voice of his collaborator Villiam Larrondo. An original and warm sound palette filtered through dub techno, jazz and ambient that shines through day and night.

This is a special release no doubt. Deepchord, Deepnaut, Pulshar and Braulio Lam were specifically chosen to head up this treasured task of taking Linval's 'World Crisis' into their realms.

'World Crisis' is Linval's message and it is as definitive as ever. The overall traditional dub concept is to feature different voices over the same instrumental where this, flips the script and each version has a different electronic music producer add their talents to create their own signature account.

The Deepnaut version shimmers in a euphoric glow that covers you like a sun on the beach in summer. Linval's voice is front and center and one could say this may be the most single oriented as it uses the most vocals of any of the renditions here.

Braulio Lam's submission has all the makings of a classic styled dub track. While the beat is transcendent, everything else is processed in a new school way. And the technique is next level to be clear.

Next is Deepchord's version. To say this is the deepest and most techno might not be much of a surprise. The groove is addictive and the chords sampled into the rhythm while the melody ebbs and flows are pure magic.

Lastly, Pulshar breaks things down to the starkest of the choices and one of the most hypnotic. Pablo Bolivar and Sergio Sainz Vidal from Pulshar have a knack for injecting some dark and deep island vibes to the electronic scene.

The artwork respects the history of dub culture while advancing the application as it uses AI generated images combined with human elements.

Culminating with a world tour for his latest album, “MUST”, Pablo Bolivar has rounded up an exciting group of artists from around the world to release MUST Remixes.

Soulphiction, the German underground house legend with releases on Pampa and Sonar Kollectiv, opens and closes the EP with two excellent versions of “Off Soft“, a favorite track amongst the remixers. Piek (Spain) and Anton Lanski (Russia) were also seduced by the track’s jazz atmosphere. Piek’s rework builds an interesting rhythm with reminiscent broken beats, while Lanksi provides a more atmospheric take. Argentinian, Fosky, adds a touch of disco to the release with an sexy “swimming pool” style remix of “Midnight Frogs.” In the same vein, but with less bpms, Brazilian, BFAM (Brotha From Anotha Motha) ushers us into chill-downtempo territory for his remix of “Eleven Years,” while Greece’s Nikosf delivers an evocative deep house track. And finally, from the home label, Dactilar turns “Diamonds” into a seductive dub house trip, while Vidall (brand new a.k.a. from Aphro) injects a mesmerizing epic dancefloor track for “New Order.”

We are really proud and honored to present ESPECTRUM, a year-long effort to put together a compilation of the best dub techno. The idea was simple, but ambitious: ask some of our favorite artists for one track to epitomize dub techno—the style of music we’ve loved and continued to develop since our birth as producers and a label. With a very precise idea of what we wanted to collect, the compilation was carefully built with hypnotic, obscure, dense, and magical sounds with an eternal hook. These are the kind of tracks that will never lose their appeal, because they go above and beyond labels, styles, and trends, resisting the passage of time. After the first tracks starting coming in, the idea grew more and more special, and the concept even stronger. We knew we were onto something really big. And, finally, here it is.

They loop in your head forever: Pulshar are back. Since 2015 the way Pablo Bolivar and Sergio Sainz Vidal aka Aphro produce their music changed , as Sergio moved to New York and Pablo is living in Barcelona. As both know each-others heartbeat supremely, the results stay even in distance as deep as before. For their latest EP “Mask” they arranged two tracks full of dark dusty sounds, haunting dub atmospheres and eerie vocals. A record, that somehow feels like their start back in 2007, when their first Mini-LP “Babylon Fall Collection” saw the light of the day to cause a global stir. And somehow the obstreperous nature of nature can be detected in their new music, too. A note, that is originated somehow in Sergio’s experiences during the devastating hurricanes in Puerto Rico in September 2017. The power of nature overwhelmed him deeply and he enrolled his emotions into a dusty flair that covers the two original tunes. He also video-taped the storms and used the footage for the video on “Abby”, the haunting main track of this release. In comparison, the second arrangement “Forever Is Not” grooves more laidback, serves a certain dense fourth-world-ambient spirit and spreads dubby conqueror notes. Besides original material, the EP brings two remixes. One by San Francisco based electronic producer Federsen, who transforms “Abby” into a dub techno tune that circles in his very own psychedelic realm. The second edit comes from Mathimidori, also known as Mathias Kaden. The German DJ and producer injects “Forever Is Not” a funky bass line, that works catchy and functions as the roots for a feverish tripping dub techno seducer. Four tunes, four galaxies. They will work heavy on any top-notch sound system. And hunt even deeper when checked via a sensible headphone.

The many places where he has lived and the number of times he has moved apartments inspired the title of this work. A mini album where you can trace some nostalgia for the 90s house and electro sound that continues to infiltrate modern electronic music. Sergio,(AKA 50% of the electronic duo Pulshar) shows his ability to blend different styles in a seamless way, creating hypnotic and sensual scenarios, using just a Micro Korg and some mobile apps. With the phrase “Limitations are the Basis of Inspiration" hanging from his computer, the NY based producer likes to create his tracks in an extremely easy way and using basic equipment (most of the drums and sequences were born in subway commutes or traveling).  

With this release, Vidall expands and refines his sound, while still keeping his signature melodic sensibilities.

One of dub-techno´s main features is the “time freezing” thrill, the one that gets us into an eternal loop without past or future. The hungarian producer Tamás Olejnik knows how it works; “Deep Sea Exploration”,  his second reference for Avantroots, has become his masterclass.

An album of which all five titles are the perfect guide throughout the whole journey. “Bioluminescence” introduces the dark landscapes. Then, “Tectonic Plates” and “Manta”  make us float on subaquatic textures. “Plankton” is composed of up-and-down sound currents which peacefully swerve us from one side to the other. Concluded with “ Deep Sea Exploration”, a magnificent ending to our trip , just a new invitation to dive the seabeds once more.
